Wow. Exciting would be an understatement. I can’t express my wonder and overwhelm without using swear words. But I loved the way the list is made, so many details in so few words. This is what a preview list should look like. Brilliant.
My CHW’s(can’t hardly wait)
Che – all the reasons mentioned
Slumdog – yes I didn’t download it yet.
Wrestler – all the reasons mentioned
Benjamin Button – more interested in seeing Blanchett in a Fincher film.
The International – anything with Watts and Owen goes
Watchmen – no reasons needed
Duplicity – in spite of Roberts, I wanna see this.
Genova – just these lines….can’t get over them…. There’s something charged and classically continental in the mix of emotional distance, emerging sexuality and glimpses of the supernatural, and if anyone can pull off a classic modern-day Euro art film it’s Winterbottom.
State of Play – love the title, I can imagine myself coming back from a weekend and gushing , “errm, not much, I just saw STATE OF PLAY(mf)!”
Synecdoche, NY – more Hoffman than Kaufman
Bruno – Bruno has been heralded by a rippling wave of semi-scandalous news stories – Bruno at the Prop 8 rally, Bruno at the Milan fashion show – which makes us more eager than ever to see the excruciating social humiliation play out.
Drag me to Hell – they come few and far between
Inglorious Basterds – I mean no reasons, this and Shutter Island and Public Enemies and Sherlock Holmes and Jonze’s film – where the wild things are.
Land of the Lost – Will Farrell, and ya, dinosaurs too. I love that lost look he has, as ever.
The Year One – Jack Black, Monty Python reference, Paul Rudd
Imaginarium – it’s time we had a Gilliam film.
The Box – Supernatural moral dilemma: a couple are given a box and told that pressing the button inside will make them rich, but also kill someone they don’t know.
The Wolf Man – Del Torro in a Brit horror.
The Lovely Bones – Jackson/ Murder mystery narrated by the victim – a young girl watching over her family from heaven.
Surrogates – I heard Philip K. Dick and I am sold.
Jennifer’s Body – read the script and I think it can’t be filmed.
Also wanna read few of these films,
Duplicity, International, The Box, Surrogates.
harry potter and the half blood prince, i waited FAR FAR FARRRR too long!
