This is the poor man’s Vivek Agnihotri. Vivek Agnihotri obviously being the poor man’s Apoorva Lakhia and Lakhia being the poor man’s Sanjay Gupta and Gupta himself being pretty much bottom barrel. To call it an ‘assualt on the senses’ would be an exaggeration cause for the assault to be inflicted, one has to first assume that the senses are invoked. Not so. This is about as exciting as watching the proverbial dead horse being flogged for fifty thousandth time. Did someone say ‘action film’, did someone say ’suspence’? If you did that- drop dead. And that’s not me talking, that’s exactly what the movie seems to say. All you get is 2 hours of time standing deathly still while the washed out flotsam of Bollywood engage in an exploration across their vain faces for apt expressions.I’ve always held the opinion that a gas mask is one of the creepiest props that can be used in mis-en-scene and that was until i saw Dino Morea wear one. His bad acting is like an effluence, a mist, something so abstract that not even masks can contain it. Where the hell is Emraan Hashmi when you need him?
If you feel bad for anyone it would have to be Danny Denzongpa. If you feel worse it would have to be for the Columbian film industry. Boy, did they get suckered into a lousy calling card.
In short everything bout acid factory is about as boring as this http://blogs.indiewire.com/images/blogs/reverseshot/archives/images/dragonfly.jpg
did someone say ‘action film’?
By God ki kasam… shant, cool down have a beer!
lol…hope suparn doesn’t stumble on this page!
Premise was pretty interesting. The film could have been lot cleverer. The possibilities were there lurking, but bad acting (except Manoj Bajpai and Irrfan Khan), badly placed and ridiculous actions scenes, forgetteble music and alas the whish whoosh editing job was what the film achieved in those 90 mins.
But still its not that bad as people are making it out to be. Thanks to Irrfan Khans act towards the end and the potential premise which sprung up a surprise now and then.
**** SPOILER ALERT *****
Suparn,
Were the intermittent flashbacks really necessary. Picture this. 5 men memory erased locked up in a acid factory and then they themselves figure out the plot courtesy to the kidnapping props, the phone call and in the end their memories springing back slowly one by one. That would have been hell lot more interesting.

it was a good concept… the movie did have its feel … loses it somewhere… still, the movie was decent… somewhere White Feather has the same problem of YRF, trying to make their movies way to swanky and stylish, starting from the casting of roles… the actors (including Manoj B and Irfan K) looked like they could ve even been replaced by the “roadies” folks, who’s “reality TV act” in itself is pretty good….
Overall interesting movie…. as Gaurang puts it, the flashbacks are spoilers, the cast needed to be tighter, story screenplay pe thoda jaada focus and less on the helicopters and cars and guys flashing their guns out in a dramatic stylised slo mos… and we could have had a great movie…
White Feather… kya yaar.. you guys have some great scripts as well … kahin se bhi ho, I get almost entertained… why spoil it with too many gimmicks…
Sanjay gupta’s movies always have a good concept….but are marred by his obsession for style …those flash cuts etc….esp. of late….
Btw sum1 plz Check out Taran Adarsh orgasming over Blue….. he’s already reviewd the film and seems like he has been totaly bowled over by it……
What concept?…
wow… somebody is pretty pissed
…but why??whats so wrong about concepts with Sanjay Gupta movies… apna ya paraya.. concepts toh concepts hain bhai…
sorry… seat of the pants reaction ;)
(keede time) .. wow something got modified here…. ;)
The ending could have been much better , and it would have made this film one of the best thrilers of recent times.
Still, quite a good effort by Suparn Verma ; some brilliant acting by Manoj Bajpai and Irrfan Khan
one word would be enough for this movie review – “LAME”. 0.5 stars just for the effort of making the movie.
