Any news or anything to do with the great Bachchan family doesn’t interest me an iota. way too much publicity is given to the Bollywood’s first family, so much so that just the mention of Bachchan makes me nausiac. But, for some reason i loved this news…the pairing of AB sr with Waheeda Rehman for Rakesh Om Prakash’s next Dilli 6.
AB sr. has worked with him in Aks and Waheeda did a wonderful job in Rang De Basanti, so now the RDB director has roped in both of them for his upcoming, eagerly awaited next Dilli 6 says this source.
AB sr. and Waheeda had been paired earlier in the poetically beautiful movie Kabhi Kabhi, Mahaan and Adalat. Though i don’t remember much of the latter two, but, Kabhie Kabhie remains one of my favourite from the Yash Raj stable.
Amitabh Bachchan and Waheeda Rehman, who formed a super hit pair in films like Adalat, Mahaan and Kabhie Kabhie in the ’70s and ’80s, are working together after 25 years. The two last worked together in Mahaan and Coolie, which released in 1983.
Now, what is interesting here to note is that, these two stalwarts will be donning the role AB jr.’s grandparents…
The legendary actors play Abhishek Bachchan’s grandparents in Dilli 6. The film is produced by UTV Motion Pictures and directed by Rakyesh Mehra.
This bit sounds a bit interesting now. I can also predict, that AB Jr. looses his parents during his childhood and is raised by AB Sr. and Waheeda, his grandparents…ayyila..so much for a story ..haha
Now the question is, will Dilli 6 remain rooted to its vision or will it give into the new found acts of gimmickry by the Bachchan khandaan.
I have liked both of rakesh’s movie, hopefully this will be as good if not better. Ab sr. has been re-igniting the fire with his old heroines, what with Hema Malini, Sharmila tagore and Rati Agnihotri. Will we see the fireworks is the question, what are your answers?

Indeed a good news for all BigB and Waheeda ji fans.. Big B himself is a great fan of Waheeda ji as in so many interviews he has quoted her as the most beautiful lady..
Waheeda ji is quite senior to Big B in the industry.. and interestingly paired with Big B many a times ..
In Kabhi Kabhi She played his Wife,
In Reshma aur Shera, the (not to be) pair shared unusual relationship (Bacchan to be devar, baecomes husband to be)
In Adalat and Mahaan She played Wife and Mother both while in Trishul, Coolie and Namak Halaal, She Played Mother of Big B..
An unusual yet one of the most dignified onscreen pair.. More reasons to watch Dilli 6 now..
also looking out a song on two as barring “Jidhar dekhoon (Mahaan.. the Telephone song)” there are not many songs picturised on this pair..
I thought Dilli 6 is sorta based on Rakesh Omprakash’s life..? Like Kabhi Kabhi.. this film has two kapoors as awell: Sonam and Rishi…
and Waheeda Rehman was first on screen wife of AB (Reshma aur Shera):)
