It is time to do a list. This time, I present to you The Top 10 One Scene Characters. Not really. Just a few of my favorite One Scene Hindi Film characters, that have sorta stuck in me mind. I was meant to write on this a very long time ago. But, you know, how it is. Anyway, a few weeks back I read RK’s article on Naseeruddin Shah’s 3.5 scene in Ardh Satya and that kinda prompt me to finally write about my favorite one scene characters; I just want to highlight those great actors.
In most of the films - those small characters/one scene characters are the most memorable/entertaining scenes. And I am going to start with RajPal Yadav because he has made a successful career out of playing one scene/small characters.
RajPal Yadav has done plenty of films with Ram Gopal Verma …

I want to be a Kisaan - have me own Mango Farm. Because, Mango is King of Fruit, and my favorite fruit. It would make me money - especially in this current environment. If I play it smart. I would be rich. And more importantly, eating Mangoes would make me more creative, apparently. Mirza Ghalib. He liked Mangoes. Apparently, he has tasted over 400 varieties of Mangoes! I only know of two mango varieties - Alphonso & Kesar. And you all know how creative Mirza Ghalib was. But some people say that was due to him having a depressing life. I like to believe it was Mangoes.
Creative Mind. You either have it or you don’t have it. I believe I <strike>have</strike> had that. I feel I recently have lost the creativeness in me life. Cos I did not school it. A plant needs nutrient, water, C02, soil …

No Reviews to do. How many (Hindi) films were released in May? When was the last time you saw a (Hindi) movie in a theater? Next few months seem busy, though. So I shall review a promo. Or should I say, I am going to judge a movie from its first theater trailer. Mission Istanbul. Is the subject of this article. Some of the PFC authors already have classified the aforementioned movie as the Buckvaas Hindi Movie of Year 2008. What do I think?! Promos are meant to be judged. Whose right or whose wrong? Not me to decide. But I agree with them. I will give you my reasoning. I am going to dissect the promo - logically, I must add.
The film is directed by Apporva Lakhia. Who is that?! Oh, he is the guy who has given duds like Mumbai Se Aaya Mera …

“What would you have done, then?!” - I get that asked often and my reply is, “Erm, what, me? You’re kidding!” I give orders and I don’t do any menial jobs. I come from a royal family, you see, so everything was/is given me on my plate. Not really. But what would have I done to make a film better? First of all, I would have never made a trash film. We are speaking of a hypothetical situation, in which I am some sort of a Film consultant. So, I don’t think anybody would tell me that, “you don’t have in you to make a film”.

What would happen if we imply Gandhji’s teen chatur Bandar in our life with respect to Films? We certainly would minimize klesh in our life. I guarantee you on that.

“Sun Ke Chakkar Ghumyo; Dossri Bara Suna. Phir Bhi Haara. Saamjh Mein Na Kuch Aya. Ek aur Bara Suna. Phir Bhi Haara. Yeh Baat Mehfuz Hee Rehna Do. Saalaa Phaas Gaayaa.” These were my first reaction of the soundtrack; it doesn’t make any sense because the soundtrack did not make any sense to me. Now I have heard the soundtrack at least dozen of time. I wanted to hear the soundtrack over and over because there was something I was missing to understand the soundtrack.
The soundtrack is composed by Amit Trivedi, if I am correct, he was/is part of Om - The Fusion Band. He was on keyboards, I think. They did chart-busting track “Maula’, which featured in film Iqbal’s compilation album. Then, he also did some songs with first Indian Idol winner, Abhijeet Sawant, in his second album Junoon. He composed three songs: Dhoodien, …

A few days ago I heard a joke, a philosophical joke. I found it quite funny and thought this joke could be turn into a film story, which would revive the Yash Raj Factory. Because, first of all, it is a Joke and most of the Yash Raj movies are product of jokes, apparently. Then, this joke has all the other Yash Raj ingredients. Since it is a joke, it is easy to incorporate Pind/Khet of North India. The characters are made for Shah Rukh Khan or Saif, Kajol or Rani or Preity, and Amitbah Bachchan. There is also an opportunity for a sequel. So the joke is perfect for an Yash Raj movie, even though it is a philosophical joke.

Now, if we look it from an audience perspective, the film is basically a different love story but will have Shaddi, so naach-gaana and …

Football season has ended - cannot wait for Euro Championship to start, though. I will talk about cinema, don’t worry. There are no decent Cricket matches happening. I will talk about cinema, don’t worry. Australia in West Indies doesn’t sound exciting and England v New Zealand has potential to be exciting but without any spice. I will talk about cinema, don’t worry. IPL sucks. I will talk about cinema, don’t worry. I prefer Stick Cricket’s 5Five. I will talk about cinema now. Feel dizzy?
So what am I going to do in the summer? Watch Films? I suppose I can. I can catch up on some movies that I haven’t watched. But, I am sick of watching films. I haven’t watched that many films, though. It don’t excite me anymore. It doesn’t take me anywhere. I have grown up. Films are just film - static.

I have got an half hour to write a dhasoo short piece. I will write a music review, for a change. I have not written any music reviews before because a) I don’t know how to review a soundtrack b) there are other capable authors who regularly write music reviews. Anyway, here goes my attempt at writing a music review.

Lately heaps of new Hindi Film Soundtracks were released from Jimmy to Tashan. I have not yet got a chance to check out all the latest soundtracks but did listen to the two latest soundtracks: Tashan & Bhootnath. Both of those soundtracks are composed by the brilliant duo Vishal & Shekhar. I admire their work espeically when they are not composing for Yash Raj. Yes, their most successful work have been with Yash Raj, but I have not liked that sort of music from them. So, I was not …

I was reading my horoscope in a Metro paper, which said that today would be a very creative and productive day for me. Then I read other daily horoscopes of me and none of those horoscope matched with the first horoscope I read. Why do my Sun Sign say something different compare to my Moon Sign? To write a horoscope, you have to be creative, I suppose. Don’t worry I won’t be writing a horoscope; on the other hand, reading a witty horoscope of Bollywood actors, films, etc. would be funny.

I haven’t done anything productive yet, but I am about to do something productive by proving that the daily horoscope I read today is true. For that, I would have to write something creative. So, I shall write a geet, a play, a sketch, a tune, or whatever. You know what, let me be a …

Most of you would have been relieved that there is no Sunday 100 today, but as I have said previously that I will keep posting Sunday 100 till it is a successful phenomena. That is one of my target.

So, I was doing some brain storming, to make this a bit interesting and ‘Money’ came to my mind first. If I give One Rupee to everyone who submits a Sunday 100 story, then would I get a lot of responses? I don’t know. First of all, One Rupee, is nothing in today’s term. Why do we still have a One Rupee coin? Perhaps, it does have a value. To make a 100 rupees, you will need one hundred one rupee coins. And secondly, this is for fun, not for…

But Money can make people do weird stuffs. It can make you write a Sunday 100, egoistic, forget your tradition/values, etc, etc. …

[I am naming the article after the song 'Kash Laga' and I don't even smoke. But you know how it is...]

Socha nahin tha taqdeer yahan laayegi
Manzil pe aate hi jaan chali jaayegi
O, yeh to Sikandar ne bhi nahin tha socha
Aane se pehle khushi laut jaayegi
Humne socha tha kya, aur kya se kya hua
Jaa rahe hai aaj yeh zamaane ko bataake

‘Socha Nahi Tha’, is one of the recent song, which would describe my feelings most of the time. And after the last night of some injustice……, the aforementioned song describes my current mood. I have been listening to the song on a continuous loop and don’t feel like doing anything apart from blogging it. Only last night I was scratching my head about what to write and by today’s afternoon…

I don’t have a personal blog, so blogging it here. So somehow have to connect …

Pancham UnMixed: An Unending Journey, is a film-documentary on RD Burman, by Brahmanand Singh.

It is more than a film, in fact, the film is a tribute or a Shradhanjali to the legend Rahul Dev Burman.

The film explores RD Burman’s life through his works, colleagues, family, close friends and admirers, which include personalities like: Gulzar, Asha Bhosle, Shammi Kapoor, Shakti Smant, Bhupinder, Pt. Shiv K Sharma, Pt. Hari P Chaurasia, Louis Banks, Vinod Chopra, Javed Akhtar, Vishal Bhardwaj, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Shantanu Moitra, Leslie Lewis and many more. So the film should have quite few interesting and exciting anecdotes….

KCP, regular reader of PFC, was/is part of the Film, and this is what he had to say about the film, the director and experience:

The journey started when we came to know that one Mr Brahmanand …

I know it is on Tuesday, but on last night K For Kishore show Amit Kumar, Bappida and Sudesh Bhosle played an April Fool prank. I could not believe it. Well, actually the show played a prank on its audience and contestants. But still, I still cannot believe those three were part of the prank.

I had mischievously put forward a trivia question: First ever Hinglish Film song?, to the PFC authors. I did not know the answer, but I was confident that the Trimurti: PavanSaab, RKSaab & SubratSaab would know the answer, or Google will have the answer. I had a backup as well; I would have bluffed Kishore Kumar’s song “Oonche Sur Mein Gaye Ja” as the first ever Hinglish Film song, if nobody knew.

Now what are the chance of me bluffing to the Trimurti and getting it away? Zero.

I did not had to bluff or google because Subrat came up with a gem of Hinglish song “Meri Jaan Meri Jaan Sunday ke Sunday” from film “Shehnai”, which was released in year 1947! So that song beat the song I thought was the first ever Hinglish song by whopping eight …
