I am THE hardcore movie fan. I am the fan that spends his hard earned money to buy a ticket and see a film. I am the Fan that goes to a multilplex with the same fervour as he goes to a single hall dingly theatre. That is why I am here. But the fan is pissed off. Like hell. It takes a lot of hard work to earn money and then to pay 500 bucks for a movie ticket shows passion. and what does the fan get in return - crap. The fan is sick of jargons - new wave, old wave, indie, cinefile, ffi, iifa, abc, xyz, - screw it all. The Fan doesnt care. The fan wants his movies crisp and tasty. And he is sick of being taken for granted. He is sick and tired and is raving and ranting…

The Fan is sick of shit being dished …

“MAA” may be the most used word in the Indian film industry but I wanted to take a look at another complex human relation that has often been ignored. The father and son relation. There have been films from time to time that have taken a fresh look at this relation and explored new facets. I am not talking of the general father gets killed- son takes revenge films but movies that often helped the viewers understand their own complex relations. After all, fathers and sons share a relation that is most complex…across the world.

These are movies/scenes from movies that I liked and felt that they showed fathers & sons in a different light - please feel free to add your own.

1) Aamir Khan and Daleep Tahil in QSQT: Not the entire film - but one particular scene moved me. Aamir Khan has been caught by goga kapoor outside his …

Hi Guys,

I just saw this pic on Rediff (its been posted by someone called Sanat who took the picture). It’s AB’s new look in Jhoom Barabar which is being shot in London.

Nowdays, I dont know what to say about the big B. Is he experimenting with his looks a tad too much? Sexy Sam was still OK. He has a pony tail in the forthcoming movie with Tabu (Cheeni kum). Then u have the new gabbar look. Its great that a phenom like him is getting to experiment with his style but - wat do u guys feel? is it getting to be a bit too much? Look forward to ur views on this…

Generally, there is a lot of buzz about the new films coming up this year. Crores have been spent on making these and more still to be spent on the marketing and hype. Some are tributes ( quote – shahrukh khan about DON) some are copies ( Lolita) some are sequels – Dhoom 2. So what will be the future of these films? I am putting my reputation (whatever little there is..heh heh ) and will predict the future of some of the forthcoming films.

So after bitching about taran adarsh and other half baked critics who give their views on films that have released – I take the insane step of predicting the most unpredictable thing in India – the success or failures of films

Before I go ahead and before I get any brickbats let me clarify - I am a HUGE big B fan, a solid SRK fan …

I saw a film yesterday and was itching to write post about superheroes in hindi films. yeah yeah I know…everybody was talking abt it when krr-eeesshhh was released like a fart in an elevator - you just cant avoid it and the man who does it slyly smiles !So i will talk of other films and avoid krrish ( sorry hritik..next time)

so everybody was talking of indian superheroes..here is my take on bollywood’s superheroes…

1) Puneet Issar in superman. YES my friends..yes. Based on the actual superman, we had a hairy punjaabi jatth Puneet (duryodhan) issar as the man in blue. replete with the costume and the S logo! do u know who played Jor el? sadda dharmendra! Now c’mon run along to the nearest Video library ( I dont think they even converted it to CD format) and pick it up for seeing the most amazing effects in Indian …

Do not fear my friends, this is not a repeat of the (in)famous dheeraj Kumar serial that was a rage over a decade ago. With his twisted (literally)smile, he dished out trash and we (due to lack of better options) actually sat and saw it. This was when TV meant doordarshan - or as I put it BC - Before Cable.

I wanted to talk about actors and actresses who came to the silver screen and then just..vanished! And one keeps thinking…where did that guy go? So, here we go.

1) Vidya Sinha: Famous star of the yesteryears - did some great movies - rajnigandha, love story - etc. wonder where she is at the moment?

2) Meenakshi Sheshadri - reining bollywood queen at one time - cast opp the big B in some films - of which Shahenshah was the most famous- I am sure even Raj Kumar Santoshi must be …

So KANK is a super duper hit! And so are Phir Hera Pheri (rip off of Lock, Stock and 2 smoking barrels), Krrish and a bunch of other crappy stuff! While the producers guild goes about tom-tomming the resurgence of movies, i wanted to talk about a bunch of films that - according to me - had soul! Not just lovely locales and big stars - backed by marketing hype worth crores! Here goes in random order,

1) kagaz ke phool - immortal film that was beyond the mere mortals that wanted commercial masala.. even in those days! A classic in every term that can be thought of.

2) Lamhe - was India not mature enough for Lamhe? we will never know. But, probably one of the finest love stories ever made in India. Yash Chopra at his best. ( and no sarson ke khet for a change…)

3) Main Azaad Hoon - …
