Looks pretty sleek.But, the most important question: Will it have a story?

For such a big and awaited film, it’s a lame ass promo. I feel that the company that prepared this promo is really out of it. Gone are the days when a bunch of money shots of stuff blowing up strung together makes an interesting trailer. It’s become old.
A redundant trailer that doesnt tell you anything about the characters, nothing substantial enough to generate an interest in the story. Gives the impression that if you’ve seen the trailer, there’s nothing more left to see in the movie.

The OG movie is INTO THE BLUE FROM WHERE IT RIPPED OFF
You could probably be right Vijay..but they are playing it to their strong points..maybe the characters are not as strong or maybe they are..but the uniqueness of this film is music and the action..which they have presented..it could as well turn out to be a mindless action film..but i like the trailer…i would watch this film after seeing this trailer..unless they come with some other stupid stuff which would repel me..
What is unique about the music or action presented in this trailer. What of its kind have we not seen or heard before? Let the soundtrack come out and then we’ll see how unique the music is. I am waiting for it since its by Rahman.

The promo starts with the line ‘250 feet deep lies the secret of blue’. I however wonder which ocean is only 250 feet deep. Is it a pond? WTF!!!!
Having watched ‘Into the blue’ and this trailer, I understand that they have changed the story quite a bit.
But the promo was entertaining. Atleast they had real sharks instead of the plastic ones in ‘Luck’ ;)

first of all they didn’t mention anything about an ocean…and even if its an ocean,,how the hell can you even comprehend about what they are referring to here….maybe its something 250 feet deep (NOT necessarily the ocean bed!!)…you can save your lame/pre-judged comments when the movie releases…..judging all-that about a movie from a 2 min trailer…how cinematic is that..!!!
U guys realize though that this movie is a rip-off of at least a dozen Hollywood flicks right… not im not talking about our usual Hollywood movie piracy… every scene is an exact copy of a scene in a hollywood flick..

Not that that’s bad, sometimes such rip-off films if made well are really entertaining.. but c’mon.. don’t look for a story or try and dissect it… Its a mindless action movie..
Just enjoy the action and then watch the hollywood movies the action is picked out of.. will make you appreciate them more

Lara, Katrina both looking distinctly different from their earlier ‘roles’ (except one ‘dupatta-lehraao’ shot by Lara here).
And rip-off/inspiration is not a problem as long as it’s done well….(eg. Akele hum Akele Tum and Kaante to name a couple)

the partial upskirt scene was probably the only thing good about this crap trailer.
The underwater visuals look quite good. But what is Zayed “Khan’t-Act-To-Save-My-Life” doing in the movie, living proof that God does make mistakes sometimes?
‘Blue’ is a remake from ‘Into the Blue’.Quite a comparision between a 2 min trailer and a 2 hour movie.Esp coming from someone who questions which ocean is 250 feet deep when clearly there is no mention of the word ocean in the referred sentence.Oh is that contradiction that they have changed the story quite a bit.You must be Einstein to figure that out from a 2 min trailer.

The trailer seems fine to me. Very impressive. Some the members here seem to have made up thier mind to trash the film. RGV was so right.

some people out here can just crib and do no more…. the production values look really good and the action seems to be well choreographed…so wats not to like. Atleast appreciate it for that….i mean its really stupid to get into criticizing story and characters before u have seen the movie.

Well the trailer does look good, the action & underwater sequences look genuine atleast.The odds are heavily against Anthony D’Souza and Ashtavinayak,but it will be amazing if they can still pull it off.one big deterrrent could be the budget- apparently its been stretched to some 100 odd crores.If thats the case then the movie better be a super duper mega blockbuster otherwise its a money loser all the way.
I think the film is ripped from “THE DEEP” a 70’s hollywood film starring Jacqueline Bisset,Nick Nolte,Eli Wallach.
Well, it did not look exciting, hope the soundtrack will be good.
Ashtavinayak as producers never made promising action films ,looking at past record like Kidnap,Luck,Agnipankh.
Slick for sure. I like the music and the feel. Bollywood could really use a good action film, to keep some mouths shut if nothing else.
In to the blue is the flim with some shots from Torque(the bike chase seq). The Best part of the Film is A.R.Rahman…All hai RAhMAN
it is a rocking promo caustrophic dont jump th gun so quickly watch the movie first & then shout copy boss . just because iyt is a formula movie , doesnt have to be crticised . Although Zayed ‘can’t act salaa is miscast here . i will watch it first day first show .

Hey Guys , first of all a THANK YOU for putting up the promo and taking the time out for reviewing it
BLUE is not a classic , its a sincere and humble effort at trying to entertain , make something big and hope that the common man get entertained .
I love movies by anurag , Sriram , Imtiaz and have a lot of regard and respect for them . But this is not that kind of film ,as for showing characters etc , we thought we would do that in subsequent promos , this was meant to be a teaser . As far as a rip of from a hollywood film , well, the story is original , thats all I can say .
I respect all the comments , but will implore you guys to give the film and me a fair chance , this is my first movie and I need all the support and good wishes . Either ways thanks to all of you’ll for taking the time.

Anthony, I will admit that I wrote initially about the movie being a remake of “Into the Blue” since both stories deal with under water treasure in a wrecked ship. But, since you mention the story is original, I take back my words till I watch the movie
I must add that I found the trailer pretty entertaining and really technically sound. I will definitely watch the movie in the theater.
Please write about your experiences working world famous cinematographer and action director. It will be a really interesting read.

Dont you think that Sanjay is looking overweight & if i might add aged . Is it true his underwater stunts were shot in a swimming pool?

I am commenting purely on the promo and not on the film. This in my opinion is a terribly cut promo. No momentum, no pace or rhythm, and absolutely no interest and curiosity created. Whoever made this sleeping pill should watch the Ishqiya trailer and learn how promos should be cut.
hi jj kulkarni,i watched the trailer of ishqiya and i loved it but this is a very different genre of film. what we wanted to do on this promo(blue) is to have minimal dialogues coz this was a teaser rather than a trailer and at the same time have styling thats never been used before.Never before any promo was so appreciated and i’m disappointed that u didn’t feel the same.
C’mon man dont compare this one with Ishqiya.. That is far better than Blue. Hope this blue doesnt give the producesrs blue. After watching Luck , I am quite apprhensive about action moives in India.

Tushar, I do understand it’s a different genre of film. The Ishqiya trailer is a good example of a trailer that does justice to the film and its genre. This in my opinion is not- as I said before it just put me to sleep. My best wishes all the same and hope the film is more entertaining.

i dont get it Mr JJ Kulkarni why are judging the book by only its cover . its a good promo & i loved it .It shows exactly what it promises great fun & style asw ell as great kickass action . Ishqiya , i presume will be a different kind of a movie which has a gritty & rustic feel to it as opposed to the larger tahn life one in Blue . there is an audience for both yaar . so chil; out boss .
the trailer is not that bad ..but could have been much better .. Katrina looks fabulous .. watched the trailer again and again just 4 her ..loved the way music changes when she is introduced in the trailer, as if she is the biggest star of them all … she is 4 sure in my books ..

But i would like to assure you all that the story is very much original and to talk about the strength of story as compared to action that you all will come to know only after watching movie. Just wait and watch thats all what i want to say.

@Proneet: Arre baba, sorry to say but how thick are you? I’ve constantly said that I’m not judging the film at all, only how effective the trailer is. I’m judging purely the cover, not the book. You are free to like the trailer… Simple really.
