It seems Bollywood is spreading through Germany like wild fire. According to this news snippet on Yahoo News seems, it seems like there are three publications completely dedicated to Bollywood. Further now Germany will have a news agency whose sole job will be to gather any news on Bollywood!!! Is this the right time to enter Bollywood or associate yourself with Bollywood if you’ve been planning on it? Is Bollywood gonna storm the world markets pretty soon, and now’s the time to jump on the bandwagon?
Bollywood seems to be catching the fancy of Germans in a big way. After last month’s launch of three German magazines on Bollywood, it’s no surprise that the Germans have launched a news agency dedicated to Bollywood news.
The agency – BNA-Germany – aims to provide first-hand Bollywood news, according to a press release.
Till last month Germans had to rely on English magazines like Filmfare and Stardust to read about their favourite stars and films. These magazines were not only difficult to obtain in Germany, but expensive as well. Besides, not all fans know English.
Therefore, publishers decided to cash in on the growing interest of Germans in Bollywood.
Last month, German film distributor Rapid Eye Movies came out with Bollywood Rapid Eye Magazin with Shah Rukh Khan on its cover. The magazine is retailed at most newspaper stalls in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Indien-Magazin is another glossy that covers a range of India-related themes. The focus of the first edition was Bollywood with Shah Rukh on the cover.
The third magazine is called ‘ISHQ’. This magazine covers films, reviews, fashion, beauty and more.
While Bollywood will have four editions a year, Indien Magazin and ISHQ are bi-monthlies.

Actually there is a big market in Europe for not only bollywood films but Indian films as a whole. In Amsterdam alone the last 4 film released “Fanaa”, KANK, PHP and Lage raho Munnabhai went hit. I have never seen the housefull board for any english movie in the theatres. I saw it for KANK, Fanaa and Lage Raho Munnabhai. Next month Don is being released here and it already looks like winner.
I find many Asian movies like chinese, korean and japanese movies being released here. With Hollywood movies being released 4-5 months after being released in India and US, its good opportunity to release more quality movies here. i would like to see many regional movies here. Its about time we take movies to the world. Netherlands do not have many dutch movies released in a year so Indians should cash in on the hunger for entertaintment here.

Hindi Cinema is huge in all parts of the Europe. However, people only bother to watch certain movies – Yash Raj Movies, Karan Johar Movies, big stars movies, big candyfloss.. in cinema. They do not venture something new.
Munnabhai MBBS did not do that much of business in UK, but people watched it on tv/dvd and then the hype of LR M – made LRM a big success in UK.
Also Punjabi movies/Tamil movies release through out the year in some parts of UK. And those movies are also a success as Punjabi Community/Tamil Community is quite large…
i forgot to add..
in europe only certain films get theatrical releases. where as in uk majority of hindi films do.
