buddha sathiya gaya
Buddha Sathiya
Rahul Rawail better forget filmmaking and find another pastime to keep him occupied in his old age before he has actually driven out of the film industry for making such vulgar films.
Gone are the days of Dada Kondke, he too made films in style and were entertaining not like the one Rahul Rawail has made in the name of Buddha Mar Gaya. Sach mein the Buddha from whom this film is allegedly inspired had seen the film he wouldve definitely committed suicide.
Actors like Anupam Kher and Om Puri have no reason to complain that Rakhi Sawant got more footage in the publicity.. Why did they have to be associated with a film like this one. Anupam has just won a national award for his performance in Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Maara why on earth did he want to be part of such a film. And Mr Om Puri what is wrong with you are you out of work or you two guys too have lost it like Rawail has? Dont tell me Rakhi Sawant was the attraction?
Mr Rawail is about time you bid goodbye to the film industry if you have to continue making this kind of cinema becoz if you keep making such crap soon you will see yourself bracketed with Kanti Shahs of the film industry
Mr Rawail who will certainly not die laughing watching this film you will definitely die of shame to see a film coming from someone like you

what is ranvir shorey doing in this film?
i thought he had good sense of cinema!!!
but as of om puri, he did a lot a crappy films so no wonder he is in this one, guess people would do everything theese days as long as the pay cheque is worth it.
not only rawail…sab sathiya gaye hain.anupam kher,om puri, paresh rawal and prem chopra.kya ham inke liye ek rahat kosh bana sakte hain, taki yeh ghatiya aur bakwas filmon mein kaam na karen.tauba…tauba…
Rahul Rawail is the same guy who did Arjun and Dacait…my god..are they the same people…and we call Indian Cinema progressive..if this was to be a Noir comedy…it had to have all the Noir elements in place…the humor dark and the screechiness and up in the face crassness out…what was this…my god…I bloody shudder!!!
shiitt…i can’t believe u guys actually went n saw the movie.
dint u realize from the posters n promos dat its like da last movie u’d think of watchng till u diee..
even im 2disappntd lukin at om puri n anupam kher doin such crappy stuff..
panditain // welcome aboard! can you please make sure that the fonts/styles of your post are in line with the other content on the site? please email oz, me or one of the editors should there be questions.
Panditain…interstnd id ya. but such a small post!! gt to know that some of the scenes r so bad, one will puke. wud hav great been fun to read. but u hav guts ya, that u dared for this one.
Pantadian…this is Rahul Rawail. i have read your blog on Buddha Mar Gaya and respect your views and the views of the other guys. Yes BMG was an experiment that failed badly, and the blame is completely mine. I tried my hand at a genre that is probably alien to me and that is where it fell flat. Blaming the actors is unfair as they did exactly what the director, that is me, required. Of course the choice to act in the film was theirs but even if they made the wrong choice it is me to blame again, as they probably believed in the concept, as narrated to them, but the same was not translated on screen in the right spirit. The fact that the film has recieved brickbats from all viewers, does not mean that a director should disown his film, but accept the verdict of the viewers and introspect, so that he does not disappoint viewers again.
taran adrash gave it a thumbs up ..some consolation for you mr. rawail. but brave of you to accept your failure like this.
if one accepts success one has to accept failure. so, accepted that i went completely haywire in my treatment and lost a lot of face, but ignited the passion to hit back again. maybe it was “the kick on the a… ” that i needed!
Mr Rawail, if you are still reading this, you have found one fan on the entire planet – that is me (considering that even you didn’t like this film at all). Unfortunately I cannot show this film to other people without becoming a total outcast.
all the best mr rawail..didnt know this side of you, you’ve only risen back in my eyes..will look fwd to your next project.
Mr. Rawail..all that we wish you to do is to go back to the hungry “Dacait” mode..you were way ahead of your time then..with a fabulous cast and performances…great screenplay..and “Wow” locales…something like that..in some contemporary mode would do the trick perfectly..also your camera placements / shot compositions were so good then!!!…agreed one cannot make a masterpiece everytime..but you could just stick to your tried and tested work ethic..and I am sure it’ll work again…
You have written yourself into our film history books with Arjun and Dacait…just a little introspection is all we ask for!!
Anyways..great of you to have owned up..don’t know of too many people who can do that too!!
Rawailsaab, Arjun is still one of the my favourite films. expecting mor Arjun, Dacait types from you…
Rahul Rawail Ji, Welcome on PFC. Its happy occasion that you have actually commented on PFC. Thanks for this.
Good Bad Ugly are parts of a creative journey of anyone. You gave many good films in the past like Biwi O Biwi, Betaab, Arjun, Dacait and to some extent you were associated with Love Story also so audience always have big expectations from you.
so when they dont get same quality films they get disappointment.
We wait for Rahul Rawail of those good films.
Thanks for commenting here and welcome again.:)
the response from you guys is overwhelming!!! will definitely try and live upto what is expected from me. i have been constantly been asked, “why dont you make arjun again?”. arjun was made at a time when the udecayed unemployed problem was rampant, which is not so today, and, the youth had inherent anger, which is not there today. however, there are other problems which can be explored, but where are the writers????? the west was was very proud when the DVD Writers were invented, but we in indian cinema had DVD Writers even before somebody thought about the device!!!! my e-mail id is @@@@@ (Email removed for privacy reasons. You may contact PFC for Mr.Rawail’s email ID) any suggestions for stories or writers are wanted immediately.
sorry the last comment should read
“educated” not “undecayed”!!!!! lol!!!! dont know how that typo occurred
id like to speak with ramu ramnathan for a script. any contact details??
n sir…to be frank n honest…i always thought u belong to that old fashioned bollywood brigade who dont even bother checking thier email nor have anything to do with online stuff. happy to know that u r not. n warm welcome on pfc. one need tremndous guts to accept all these harsh comments n accept failure. good to know that u r again unlike typical bollywood guys!!! n yes arjun is also one of my favourts. n here the links to two more intrsting posts featuring u…some good, bad n ugly….

Rahul…check ur mail…
Rahulji, why don’t u start blogging on PFC and share ur experiences while making Arjun, betaab, Dacait and working with Rajkapoor, Sanjiv Kumar etc.
BTW, Your Arjun Pandit was also a good film. I liked its rawness, action, unpredictable story and also song “har kadam par koi qatil hai kahan jaaye koi…”
Rahulji, ur presence on PFC is as surprising as an unintentional BMG coming from ur creative stables..I remember reading somewhere that Mani Ratnam acknowledges a debt to you..He is supposed to have remarked that all he learnt about film making, the visual nuances is courtesy Rahul Rawail..He held ur work in such high esteem..And same here..I had an additional reason to have high
appreciation for ur work because a friend and roommate of mine was given a break by you in your film Bekhudi..His name is Ajay Mankotia..I don’t know where he has gone now..most probably back home..Kamal Sadanah also could not make it(such are the travails of Bollywood)..But yes who can forget Kajol..And who can forget Betaab, Arjun, Dacait, even Anjaam…What happened Rahulji with ur last two offerings..JBSN and BMG..u must be knowing better behind-the-scenes story..All i know is that u ve meat and hope u bounce back with more glory..always wishing the best for u..krysh
Shailesh, i have been i8n touch with Oz and Phoenixnu and will start my blog soon. kryshdhieraj i definitely have the meat to bounce (with my girth and pure fat all around)!!!!! saying BMG was unintentional would be me shying away and shunning all responsibility from a catastrophic disaster in my carreer. as i said earlier the genre was intentional and i probably screwed up on the treatment, completely the directors perogative, and took the wrong path to tell a story. my disowning this miscarriage is not being honest.
mr. rawail, the dignity with which you’ve taken the harsh comments in stride is what we love here at PFC. welcome aboard.. though i can’t admit to liking your recent stuff, betaab will always be a fond memory for me bc it gave me my first cinematic crush in the form of amrita singh when i was probably only 5 or 6yrs old.. and i have you to thank for that.. who would’ve known back then i would get to thank you for something like this 20yrs later
off-topic, i just saw that your IMDB mentioned “is pyaar ko kya naam doon” as your latest project with john abraham and om puri.. pls do tell us a bit more about that when you have the time.. or maybe in one of your posts once oz has setup your account..
Mr.Rawail .. amazing to see you on PFC. Would love to read your blog surely. And, although, I could not sit through BMG, I did “see” that the intention to make a ‘black comedy’ was there.
striker, “is pyaar ko kya naam doon” would have been john abrahams debut film way back in 2001. the film was shot in england an 70% of the film was completed, but due to a fall-out between the producers, the film was stalled and never saw the light of the day. turtle, at least you “sat” and “saw” the film, unlike most people who didn’t!
Mr. Rawail
Were you so impressed with the Kannada movie ‘Om’ that you decided to do Arjun Pandit.
I think a lot of cinematic liberties was taken which made the movie too formuliac.
Any plans of making a movie with Sunny paaji in the near future?
am planning a film with sunny soon
Rahulji, was going through old posts so the late reply too…Your Dacait will remain a cinematic masterpiece for me and have spent my entire childhood watching it repeatedly on VHS…My best wishes for you to bounce back & only with Sunny…
