Call For The Biggest South Asian Audition In Bay Area!
Hi Folks,
For those of you, especially from the Bay Area, but also from other
nearby geographies (just because it is easier logisitically) , who
wanted to be a part of the BOLLYWOOD ENSEMBLE, but never had the
opportunity to do so, here is your big chance!!!
A play to be held in San Jose, which will mark the DIRECTORIAL DEBUT
of Bollywood’s numero uno ART DIRECTOR, SHARMISHTA ROY!
Sharmishta has been the art director for ALL of KARAN JOHAR Films
(KANK, Kuch Kuch, Kabhie Khushie, etc) and a lot of the YASH RAJ
films. Subhash Ghai, MF Hussain, are the other people whose works she
has done Art Direction for.
Clearly, given the high standards of the director, we will be setting
high expectations in the auditions, cause this is about as big as it
gets. Currently auditioning for actors (including the male and female
lead) and dancers (all genre’s)
This play has been scripted by VIVEK KUMAR of SAAFA (the second one
after the successful run last year of the first musical with Project
Pulse).
So if you are ready to take on the challenge, here are the details of
the audition:

Now over to you
Sincerely,
Vivek “Bollywood comes to the culturally starved Bay Area” Kumar

Dude, culturally starved and Bay Area CANNOT be put together in the same sentence. You gotta be kidding me by calling the Bay Area culturally starved!
Cultural events, but not too much professionalism in them (from a SOuth Asian perspective), the kind one sees in NY/LA/London. Here it is more bored housewives in the guise of actors and engineers and students in the guise of part time directors. Also the land which chases AB when he comes as a grand marshall in the Fremont Mela:), they are more star struck here than anywhere else I have been to. Of course Bay Area has the Jazz and food, but good quality South Asian events (not the networking types put together by TiE, FIA, ICC, AIF, etc) are few and far inbetween.Somewhere in all the networking and presenting bougets to folks who took companies public (they are a necessary elemnt of pride too, but not ALL the time), the real purpose of the event, i.e. art and culture get’s lost.
sharmishtha roy…her production design and sets on yrf films are soooo over the top and unrealistic…if that’s anything to go by, I’m really not looking forward to her Direction….
