Caution: Terrible mix of Hindi and English.

CASH
Director: Anubhav Sinha
Overall Grading: B-

Rajiv Masand (CNN IBN- now showing) told me, PFC and news papers warned me, even one of my film lover friend messeged me ”CASH” is bakwaas. Par saala filmi kida dimaag me aisa gusa hua hai ki log to bolte rahenge jab tak mein khood dekh na lu tab tak kaise pata chalega ki Cash vakai me bakwaas hai.

Cash dekhne ke baad pata chala ki kabhi kabhi public ki baton ko bhi maan lena chahiye. Duniya me hum akele hi filmelligent (film + intelligent) nahin hai.

Cash starts with mast song and I thought that why people always criticize stylishly picturised movies and then I found that there was only style, style and style no substance. Sab acche acche sporty kapde pehanke video game khel rahe hai. Koi car me bhaag raha hai, koi parachute me ud rahaa hai aur koi paani me tair raha hai aur baaki ke extras unka peechcha kar rahe hai. Ek diamond (ya teen diamond? kya farq padta hai!) ke peechche saare log pade huye hai. Par kisi me koi seriousness dikhayi nahi deti hai. Sab super confidence me hai. Jab police unke peechche padi hoti hai to koi kabaddi khel raha hai(Riteish), koi chocolate kha raha hai(Esha Deol). Costume designer ko yeh malum karna chahiye ki ki koi suit pahenke helicopter me robbery karne ke liye jaata hai kya?

Infact Cash is the best example of the new film making style. First decide and design action sequences, costumes and then write the story around that. Agar story sidhi saadi hoti to theek tha par yeh to confuse karne waali hai. Haa mujhe pataa hai ki ab spoon feeding ka zamaana nahi hai par kahi continuity to honi chahiye na bhai!

Performance wise sabne apni reputation ke hisaab se kaam kiya hai. Music(Vishal Shekhar) me Dus jaisa dum nahi hai. (waise Dus bhi sirf “dus bahane” ki wajah se hi thode bahot din chali thi. Cash me to woh chance bhi nahi hai)

Waise Anubhav sinha se Aap ko pehle bhi kahin dekha hai, Dus aur Tathastu ke baad koi khaas umeed nahi thi aur who hamari ummeedon par khare utre hain.

Rajiv Masand rightly pointed out that if one weak film(Dus) performs well at the box office than what happens? Another weak film is made(Cash). In short, CASH is CRAP. Abhi cash pe cash bigadneki koi zaroorat nahin hai jab DVD release ho jaaye to dekhna iski jagah koi acchi poorani thriller (teesri manzil, Gumnaam or even Gupt )dekh lena achhchha hai.

Aur haan, agar aapne Cash ko tolerate kar hi liya hai to neeche diye gae questions ke answers mujhe bhi bataana…Saala mein bhi apne friends ko clear karke apni filmelliigence prove kar sakta hoon.
- Isha Deol kisse pyaar karti hai.. Riteish ya Zayeed?
- Film me kool kitne heere (diamonds) hai. One or three?
- Diya mirza ko kis khushi me film me rakha gaya hai?

There are some more questions I have, hope someone has answers to those:
    1. How many devices Ajay Devgan actually places on the bridge where Shamita Shetty’s car breaks down? (If you see the entire seem closely the no of devices switches from 2 to 1 and then again 2 and this keeps on repeating till the seen ends)?
    2. What was the use of those gadgets placed on the bridge by Ajay?
    3. Why Shamita Shetty did not hear any sound, when Ajay’s cellphone fell down and then Ajay himself?
    4. Why was the police following Zayed Khan after Riteish Deshmukh throws the painting to him in the water?
    5. What was the IQ of Shamita Shetty’s character in the movie?
    6. When Zayed Khan meets Esha Deol in Capetown for the first time, he says he’ll need her help in the assignment he is there for. What, when and where did Esha helps Zayed in that particular assignment i.e. stealing the painting?
    7. In last chase sequence from where Ajay and Riteish get cars, they started the chase on roller board?
    8. How many times people change targets in the last change sequence?

There are others. Please answer the above first. I would be really grateful to whoever clarifies these doubts. I haven’t slept since friday.

This bugger Aneesh Ranjan had announced bombastically before the media that he would produce 15 films, five each to be directed by three prominent directors. The only one he completed was his own cousin Kanika Verma’s Dansh. Imagine,he has left a great concept by Jahnu Barua, which I think is tentatively called Butterfly Chase (starring Yashpal Sharma, Gauri Karnik, Diwakar Pundir), incomplete after shooting was completed even before Barua made Maine Gandhi Ko Nahin Mara, just to come up with this crap called Cash. Aneesh – before you talk big and make such trash, at least complete what could be a great film. At least you will get kudos for making one good film instead of getting all the gaalis for spending crores on a bakwaas film like Cash.
