… Ab ek Baap chahiye!

Hello people… apologies for being away for so long… what else can one say, except that life caught up or rather i was doing a lot of catching up with life…

Both are true i guess…

Over the phone yesterday, Oz was asking me when i’m getting back to my blogging… well the answer is Now.

You also asked me whats been happening on my end during this interim… so here goes.

For starters i’ve been part of the setting up of an organiztion/ alliance called IIF-Worldwide. ( Indian Independent Filmmakers Worldwide)

We launched it in Mumbai on the 27th of March as a space for “independent spirit”-ed film makers/ technicians/actors to meet/confabulate/ resource/ network and build up a support system that would help promote and nuture independent film making. We’re outside the mixing room at Empire Studio.

The final mix of Vaastu Shastra is on.

“Are you sure you want your name on the credits to go as Sourabh Usha Narang”, he asks.

“Absolutely”, i reply instantaneously.

” Yes “, i reply.

There is a moments silence.

I take a long drag on my stamina stick; Ram Gopal Varma takes an even longer pause.

” You are aware that many people out there will say that you’re aping a certain Sanjay Leela Bhansali”, he says finally.

A smile flickers across my face… RGV notices.

“What?” he wonders.

“Do you want a straight answer or a filmi one?” i ask.

“Both”, RGV says, without batting an eyelid.
