There’s something real real good happening to Akshay Kumar. The projects he’s involved in continue to pleasantly surprise me… if Singh is King (or is it Kinng? Kinggg?) has a catchy title then Chandni Chowk to China may just double the fun and surprises… here’s the trailer…

Abhay Deol
Dibakar Banerjee
Hansal Mehta
Khalid Mohamed
Kundan Shah
Anish Kuruvilla
Jaideep Verma
Manish Gupta
Navdeep Singh
Bhavani Iyer
D. Santosh
Onir
Ashvin Kumar
Ramu Ramanathan
Sudhir Mishra
Pankaj Advani
Revathy
Saurabh Shukla
Shilpa Shukla
Sujoy Ghosh
Suparn Verma
Santosh Sivan

Partho Sen-Gupta
Prroshant Naryannan

Singh is Kinng wil be loud jingoistic crap. It wil also be a huge hit and that fact makes me fume. But have good hopes from CCTC…. written by Sridhar Raghavan I see.
looks intersting….so this diwali its khan vs kumar.
this will be COOL \../……..and i guess akshay will move to better scripts and more entertaining yet non-crap stuff
that comedy is akshay’s forte is now well established.. but i really want to see him in something dark and completely UN-akshay.. he’s definitely got what it takes to do it. here’s hoping he tries something different..
Eight By Ten (Tasveer) should be a decent…
yes HG….eight by ten or tasveer should be decent coming from nagesh..
and the above trailer rocks man…
nikhil advani was good in KHNH but disappointed big time in salaam-e ishq.
warner bros finally in india hmm….
long back i read one of akshay’s interview where he said that he was supposed to do water but it got stuck at that time..
methinks he has got more potential besides comedy which is no doubt his forte…
i also read somewhere that ranvir shorey is playing a chinese astrologer in this movie….
lolz….
One reason to be interested in this movie is what Baradwaj Rangan once said about the new face of Ramesh Sippy’s production house. He posted and I quote,
“after Bluffmaster and now Taxi No. 9211, we may be witnessing the birth of a new kind of commercial cinema: The Ramesh Sippy Production. As director, Sippy blazed an impressive all-India trail with Sholay and the underappreciated Shakti, but as producer, his focus seems to be narrower – he’s trying to redefine masala for the multiplex generation.” at: http://brangan.easyjournal.com/entry.aspx?eid=2861908
I enjoyed both Bluffmaster and Taxi # 9211 to more or less extent. And this might turn out to be a good entertainer as well.
is comedy really akshay’s forte? he has piss poor voice modulation, delivery, and terrible timing. i’m yet to laugh during a funny scene of his.
dabba watch hera pheri….
hera pheri was funny for paresh rawal.
slapstick is defnitely naaaT his forte..
he can carry dead pan and well written with elan
dabba- did u watch hera pheri with the lid of ur dabba closed??…u really think akshay wasnt funny in hera pheri??…and what you call a poor voice modulation and delivery is actually what the audience loves abt akshay..coz it gives ‘em a feel of guy who’s just like them and isnt just being his natural self…
*correction- “is just being his natural self”
you are right..Suprabh..he is identified with the travails of the common man..he scores there…I have heard it so many times..even for movies like “Garam Masala”..”Kitna natural hai!!”
