Choke the Filmmaker… yes choke his Civil Rights…
Ajay TG, documentary filmmaker and freelance journalist is in jail for over two months. So while we enjoy the latest releases, the new Bollywood copies, the new flops, the recent hits, a filmmaker languishes in the jails of India, his civil rights in the supposedly democratic republic of India, being choked to death. Yes, please enjoy your soda and popcorn, or the utterly knowledgeable cine fanatics please continue to stomp around here on PFC’s comments sections, and yes you dear silent reader please continue to entertain yourself and leave… for cinema to you all is no more than a few hours of entertainment.
Ajay TG was arrested in May 2008, because the authorities did not appreciate the fact that Ajay TG asked in writing an unlawful organization to return his video camera which was taken away from him at gun point. The authorities of the democratic republic of India believe this is an act of unlawfulness on Ajay’s part.
The entire case about Ajay is published here. This is your turn to help the true souls who work through the medium of cinema. So take a few minutes and help in Ajay’s release here using your true name or even your online handle. Also please publish the news on your local blogs and websites. It’s the least we can do. Leading Nobel Laureates and famous personalities are collectively coming forward to help the cause.

Well Done Oz..! PFC seriously should take interest in such issues.. Filmmakers must always have a sense of social responsibility.! You’ve done your bit.. I’ll do mine.
Oz, it’s a good cause and great that you made us aware of it here.
But honestly, you didn’t really have to say ‘Yes, please enjoy your soda and popcorn, or the utterly knowledgeable cine fanatics please continue to stomp around here on PFC’s comments sections, and yes you dear silent reader please continue to entertain yourself and leave… for cinema to you all is no more than a few hours of entertainment.’ all that.
The fact is people weren’t aware (I wasn’t) and now that I am (thanks to you) I will do something about it. But the above paragraph by you to take the readers on a guilt trip wasn’t quite necessary. You could have just said it, and we would have done the needful.
Thanks.
Thanks Oz for bringing this to our notice.
OZ I suggest PFC should run a free banner for this cause. I’m trying to rally others through a facebook page that I have created. http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/group.php?gid=20417758596&ref=mf
Thanks Partho. Will do.
