CONFESSIONS of an IMBECILE INDIAN
Booya!!!
I did it! And it wasn’t too hard. I was so effing fed up with the effing system that it wasn’t effing hard to effing convince myself “mate, it’s okay to break your own effing rules. PassionE (with an uppercase E) is bigger than effing principles”.
And I did it.
And then, there is another angle to it.
I am sure that there isn’t anyone — not even a single soul — left on this forum, besides the dunce-capped yours truly, who haven’t watched Guru D’s passionE yet.
Anyways, now there are none!
May be it’s a no-big-deal thingy to you, but mate, it matters a lot to me.
For the benefit of “hey! I am still clueless” readers, let me explain…
I HAVE WATCHED BLACK FRIDAY!
OH YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!
CHAK DINCHUK!! CHAK DINCHUK!! DIPCHIK DIPCHIK DAAAA!!
Yes, it’s a big deal to me. And I want the whole wide world to know.
You don’t understand how relieved I am… because you can never imagine what I had to go through.
Oh, how I cursed myself, held myself back from watching an illegal copy, when the whole world’s attention was on PFC with an unified focus, discussing, dissecting and deconstructing Black Friday - same agenda, same topic, multiple views - post after post, comment after comment. And I was left standing alone, all by myself, like the proverbial old man who fought with the sea (arrey I know yaar, it was a big proud fish, but that’s not the point).
Me = Old Man
Sea = My PassionE (noticed the E?)
But, now, finally, I have joined the club and can discuss the movie, scene by scene, end to end, start, middle, topsy turvy, non-linear - in whatever position you like it, just ask, don’t be shy.
Oz, RK, t!, Kartik, KK, Sumeet, Vijay, Somen, Manjeet, Smriti, CT, WB (not me, Wassan Bala hehehe), FB, Varun, Rajkumar (kahan ho tum?)… aur koi bhi ho - maidan mein uthrao - tayyar hain hum - disskashun ke liye!!
And finally, I have a few words to say to the creator of this masterpiece, the master of his domain, the captain of his vehicle.
Anurag Kashyap!
Shriman, aap yadi do maatra samay ke liye idhar padhaarien, iss sabha mein virajien aur aap ke iss abhimaani ka shashtaang pranaam sweekar karien, to iss ki janm dhanya hogi. Aap ke chalchitr ek bhautik yaatra, ek asidhaara-samaan-yathaarth, aur ek mahatt-ithihaas hain. Usski darshan-bhaagya se mere trishna, kshud, aur iss neeras-jeevan mein prati-pal-upasthit ek amitt-pyaas (thirst unquenched) - yeh saare… antardhaan hogaye. Patajhar ke rut mein yahan, bin mausam ek phool muskayee hain, aaj ke din, mere mann. Mujhe netrotsav ki praapti hui. Mere jeevan ki iss kaal ek asaamaanya akalpita anubhav hain. Aaj main mukt hoon.
(RK, don’t worry about any gross grammatic errors in my psychobabble. It’s a *pure* emotional extempore.)
Seriously. Loved it! Period. Exclamation mark!
Phew…..

Wb: brother,
1/10th Million 1/10th Million congrats to you on finally getting Rashioned DVD of BF. Wait has brought you sweet fruits. You must plunge yourself in this sea of ecstacy for 2-3 more days with multiple viewing over this weekend. First viewing, first review, second viewing second review …..
now we have few months lying between us and our last viewing of the film so many things will be forgotten. you have freshly seen the film so now its your turn to write something and we can respond to that depending on our memory.
I have got one confusion if memory is on right track, perhaps in film (based on book) it has been shown that attempts to plant bombs at Shiv Sena Bhavan and Lucky Petrol Pump were aborted but according to verdict given by Judge now, its reported that bombs were planted there also and luck was favouring people and Lucky Petrol pump had no petrol/diseal on that day in storage hence damage was less and some people were killed or injured at Shiv Sena Bhavan. I may be wrong but as you have seen it freshly you may clarify it.
I had requested few days ago to compare the film with Sarfarosh. If you can have Sarfarosh also and watch both the films one after the other and may search some analogy then it will be great piece of writing. Somewhere both films deal with similar topics.
Re: your Hindi efforts are pushing me to say that BF has compelled you to express in this way and after watching “No Smoking” you will start writing creative works in Hindi only
:).
Congrats again. Hope by monday you will turn up with your very special post.:)
RK Sarfarosh is a very good film no doubt. Great acting, great direction. But it does not compare with Black Friday. Its miles away from it.
Black Friday was pure.
Sarfarosh had Sonali Bendre(the most beautiful women of bollywood acc to me at one point). Sarfarosh had songs. Sarfarosh had sets for streets.
Oz // Now you know why they call thess parts of the world, the *down* under. Enough said.
Full2njoy // (Sigh) I’m gonna check with my manager to see if they can outsource me to our Singapore office.
Striker // Thanks bro! I have celebrated by splitting a bottle of Glen Moray with friends. Awesome stuff!!!
VB // gaana mast hai. agli view pe phone karoonga. milke naachenge :))
Guru D // Thank you sirjee!
Shatrughan // Thanks for your kind words
OM // I can only hope that this story doesn’t repeat again during No Smoking.
RK // Bhai! One million thanks for your comment!! I am yet to watch the movie the second time (was out during the weekend). Knowing your expectional memory for movies, I ma sure you remember the scene at the Lucky Petrol Pump. The bombs are planted neither at Lucky Petrol Pump nor at Shiv Sena Bhavan. I will definitely document my views of Black Friday in the next few days, after a rerun. And yes, I own a copy of Sarfarosh and I will watch it again - back to back.
Mainak // I think I know RK’s POV in this regard.
=Mainak ,
I dont get you when you write,
” Black Friday was pure ”
What does pure mean here?

WB, will come up with the required analogy and the fact why these two films shd be compared. We shd just wait for his post.
