Da Buzz on Baz
The Trailer is out!
I caught it along during Indy and it looks EPIC (kindly overlook the malnourished, pale Kidman if u wish)
its Baz’s AUSTRALIA. Enough said! Take a look
AUSTRALIA is an epic and romantic action adventure, set in that country on the explosive brink of World War II. In it, an English aristocrat (Nicole Kidman) travels to the faraway continent, where she meets a rough-hewn local (Hugh Jackman) and reluctantly agrees to join forces with him to save the land she inherited. Together, they embark upon a transforming journey across hundreds of miles of the world’s most beautiful yet unforgiving terrain, only to still face the bombing of the city of Darwin by the Japanese forces that attacked Pearl Harbor. With his new film, Luhrmann is painting on a vast canvas, creating a cinematic experience that brings together romance, drama, adventure and spectacle.
Hands up whoever thought ‘Clint Eastwood” while seeing these pics!!!!
Baz Luhrmann, teamed up with Apple to start off the ‘Set to Screen Series’, which challenges wannabe filmakers and students to be part of the whole process - its nice a way to keep the buzz running on the project as well.. :-)
Five of the episodes arrive with something extra: a creative challenge for you. Each time one of these episodes is released, you’ll have three weeks to complete the challenge and post it to the Apple Student Gallery. If your project is one of the best (10 from high schoolers and 10 from college students), you’ll win an iPod shuffle, iPod nano, iPod touch, or a MacBook Pro. And if your work is chosen as the most creative of all, you’ll be going on yet another kind of adventure—a trip for two to Australia on Qantas Airways. Five challenges mean you’ve got five chances to win.
Definitely on MY must watch list!!!

It looks like it will be a traditional, arty, weep-fest film.
Except, it is Baz Luhrman. With Nicole Kidman (who I love). In Australia. I will be there on opening night, because it will either be his first film I don’t love, or the best film to open the holiday movie season…
arty weep-fest suuuure!! but it certainly wont be traditional!!
at least i hope not…
Can’t hardly wait to watch this. Baz is awesome though I still like Strictly Ballroom the best of all his films.
[...] A woman (Kidman) tells a young girl a story about a faraway land and some hero (Jackman). The trailer looks like a period romance/adventure film and it has two stars, and directed by Baz with hits and [...]
Though Kidman might never look hot again, the film looks some consolation. liked the trailer. loved the titles!
8-) kidman is looooost tushar…
i feel she has been in the same ‘character’ for years now!!!
quite true. I have anyways never looked forward to her in terms of cinematic glamor, but ya I don’t mind a good film which makes her tolerable.
