Ashiq Abu has an interesting concept- a cop who tends to spend more time with his son rather than solving crime and the son looking upto the father as a superhero.but in trying to make a combination of a light,family movie ( 1st half ) and an action movie ( 2nd half )- the balance has got upset.As for the acting- Mammootty has a cakewalk of a role- has to just look cool in the movie,Master Dhananjay is ok and Biju Menon is decent.Richa Pallod doesnt have much to do.Suraj Vennaramoodu does his routine act.Govind Padmasurya,Ashish Vidyarthi and Daniel Balaji dont get much scope.
All in all a good concept but which could have been much better in its execution.
watched daddy cool..
went in with zero ( even negative) expectations..
so came out satisfied..
comedy was good..eminently laughable..
2nd half shifted into action and came a cropper..
mammootty looks good..10% of the film is a fashion show..
overall good one.. worth a watch.. i ll go with 3/5
