Dasavataram: Finally a movie with ballz and the hindu narrowminds backlash

Just finished watching the trailer and it really pisses me of what a few idiotic fucks come up with? The whole nation goes ballistic over DaVinci Code being banned! National Treasure goes full houses in India and it is hardly talked about here in the US but when finally one guy with some ballz and creativity makes a movie that basis thousands of years of Hindu history as a back-drop to tell a story, make it with unindian professionalism and dream to take huge risks through a medium that he rules, the narrow-minded mediocre politically motivated sleazy voluptuous heroine gazers who know nothing but to booze in crowd and hoot who don’t have the courage for open dialogue go on rampage on calling the movie dividing Hindus based on Shivites and Vishavites, a fabric so old and mutually existent that it would feel insulted being spoken about???

Dasavataram - Video of a News clip describing the issue.

You know what, all we should make it is Raj falling in love with Lovely in the khet of Punjab and dancing nagada nagada to freaking rehashed punjindi with mindless vulgar comedy and maa fucking sentiment!

Why the hell can’t we appreciate what Kamal Hassan is doing? Why the hell can’t we support him and say all rite dude, take a bow! Shivites and Vishnavites??? Are you kidding me? This is hardcore Hinduism and this divide exists for reasons beyond the understanding of any common Hindu. Its age old and its roots lie in conflicts of ideology that today’s generations need to be educated on. If a nation of 750million Hindus can love a conspiracy involving the 14 gospels of Christianity and have two cities that stood up to its banning, a country with the largest educated middle-class that is silent and a religion that has the least conversion rate in the world can be steadfast on rituals that get handed down, whom these people represent and what do they fear???

A court case is being filed based on the claim that the story depicts Shivites stealing some artifacts and hiding them for 40yrs. So you have a problem with that??? It’s a fucking story so live with it. Point is look at the pains that he has taken to tell a story. I have spent many summers traveling South India visiting depleted temples and hearing fantastic stories which are mythical and magical. The rituals are fascinating and I feel sad that not a lot more is being done to showcase them or to have the younger generation be educated on them?

I haven’t met a single person knowing why the rituals are so different in the north and the south. Why we have trumpets in front of deities and why villages used to have the processions. Isn’t it something that we could showcase as films? The oft shitty question of why would someone watch falls flat in front of me for the simple reason – show people better and they will watch. Show them Akshay Kumar and 4 gay guy movies and that’s what they will get addicted too. And if one fucking family is running a country’s industry… go fetch!

Let the movies be made cos they tell stories… the connotations be dammed, have the patience to watch and decide. Forget 5mins of fame and footage… the journo’s have no sense anyways – atleast you have. Can we just give someone trying a chance or praise to sky the mediocrity that rules the roost?

Controversy creates cash my friend. If its got more people talking about the film, thus raising its curiosity, then its the one positive that could come out of all this. Otherwise, I agree that these pathetic, ignorant and absolutely deplorable political shenanigans are embarrassing to say the least.

Must say there’s only one word I can use to describe the films trailer: Un-Fucking-believable (and yes, that IS one word). This is one film I am totally looking fwd to, and all I knew about it is whatever I can gather from the trailer. Mythology + Science = Amazingly awesome stuff.

I totally agree with you!I really doubt if Freedom of Expression exists in Indian movies at all! Finally, one would end up with a heavily butchered version of Dasavatharam which would be in no way close to Kamal really wanted to say..!

If at all anything should be butchered, it should be those rotten cliched K movies..tired of Khans and Karan Johars and the soppy dramas they create! probly someone can make a movie out of it and name it “Kichadi WITH King Khan”,”KKyoon KKi India Me Kriket Match Me Bhi King Khan hi King Hai! “

Hinduishm is known around the world for colorful god &godesses,Non-hindu takees it like bollywood movie don”t believe them.So with dasavataram hindu & non -hindu can learn about hindhism. It’s secrets,I am sure this movie will make non -hindhus to believe that Hindhuism is actually TRUE&GREAT RELIGION.So if India outsource it”s people & technology like big things,Mark my word THE MOVIE LIKE DASAVATARAM can show indians development in thinking the mixture of mhythology & science.LET it be release worldwide.

Agree with you. If these s**theads really cared for Hinduism, they would have supported a film on hindu mythology which could have actually spread the interest about Hinduism…

This situation of puttin gup court cases for the slightest alleged provocation is, to say the least, most disappointing. The very interesting and to an extent violent history that we have should be spoken about. For a culture that had stood the test of time for so many years, do these duffers think that a movie that too fiction, can destroy it?

Agreed that any publi8city is good for the movie but the distaste left by these actions is deplorable and must be condemned outright!

I am waiting frot his movie as I am hooked from the time I have watched trailer! Go Kamal!

@Ravptor: Abso-fucking-lutely my friend (since you have broken the F barrier!).

But the way, I see it… it is for the greater good (and that is not a Plato act I am trying to do!). If we do dream a kind of Utopia in the Indian film industry, there need to buggers who object… and plenty of them too (and out of no reason at all!). This binds people who really appreciate good work; and that, somehow is more important.

As goes for court cases, I still trust the Indian judiciary system (not at the district level, though!). The controversies will brutally expose the hypocrisy of all the sects who create them… somewhere the ordinary man will get rational and raise his middle finger to them! The average Indian movie go-er ought to rise above the trivial- and these controversies will go far in helping them.

And a man cannot act foolish all the time… he may support a contrversy once, twice but then he’ll go weary over the irrationality behind the logic of such controversies and that eventually helps him advocate the cause of the movie(just as some of us have- barring the super-intellectuals, I reckon all started off as fools!)
