Dil Bole Hadippa - PosterYashraj’s Hadippa has Rani Mukherjee disguising as a Sikh. Why? Now these are just rumors. Because perhaps she wants to join the men’s cricket team (or some men’s team) or something of that sort. Where the hell is this going? We have no idea. But for the sake of Yashraj, we hope there is some meat in this film and it works.

At it again. Cheap!!!! Attacking the most attacked once more.
All you writers highlighted in blue must be forum contributors, no.
Not a peep about the antics of the Bachchans and IIFA but YRF are never spared.
You are all beginning to sound like bullies and cowards, always picking on the obvious target. What about the countless other movies that get released. What about all those other directors and producers. Anybody would think that YRF were the only film-makers around.
Let YRF make the movies they want to, after all it’s their money. Like SRK said to Sunil G, “Stop telling me how to run my team. Why don’t you buy your awn team and then do what you want” or words to that effect.
Thankfully you lot are not the only paying audience because if that was the case then the movies you like would all have been hits.
You all seem to suffer from a case of “sour grapes”. Any respect I had for this forum has been greatly reduced.
I shall check in again when the need arises.
By the way – great to see Rani back in a film. She looks soooo cute. The only decent mainstream actress around. I do have more than one grey cell so don’t assume I am intellectually inferior because you lot seem to think you know best. The audience knows best. Rani will rock!!!

The community that is against Hindi as a national language is not in down South. It’s in the YRF brigade. It seems their hidden propaganda to promote Punjabi as an alternate National language. :D

    @Alysha – LMAO

If as you say the audience knows best, why have all her recent movies bombed? The audience does not want to see Rani in these silly roles even if you think she is the best. Rani is ruining her career with her decision to do only YRF movies. Even KJO is no longer casting her in Dharma productions. He has moved on to other actresses.

BTW, a little objectivity goes a long way in making your argument. Rani have likeable personality in films but she is no angel although she played one on screen. lol

I am not suffering from any symptoms similar to your own because I do not participate in the bullying of any particular person or entity. To constantly slam a particular person or body shows an obsessive and unhealthy negative behavior. A positive is always better than a negative.

I don’t want my own forum – you lot are here aren’t you. I thought it was called Passion for Cinema and not the Anti YRF Forum. No opportunity is wasted to criticise or laugh at them. I shall keep coming back until I am banned because I won’t be a “lemming” – that is in the context of this platform.

But Tejas, whatever YRF produce is their forte. If they are “shoe-makers” so to speak, do you expect them to become “wine-makers”. They do what they are good at. It is up to us to judge whether the product is for our consumption.

Indian films (bollywood) continually “keep showing the same manipulative, emotional crap”, but you don’t crib about those producers and directors on a regular basis. In fact 99% of bollywood comes within that parameter so please let us hear about someone else’s crap as well. I don’t like lots of films, film-makers, actors and actresses but my comments on them are far and few, I mainly concentrate on that which i like. Isn’t that a healthier alternative.

Of course there must be debate and dissention but what this forum is doing to YRF is malicious.

You just don’t like to be shown up as the lily-livered people you are. I would like to read some comments on the great Mrs. Bachchan’s remarks on her bahu not winning the BA award at IIFA and her son winning. I would like to know peoples opinion on Mr. Ashutosh Gowariker’s comments. I would like to know why people here aren’t upset at the worthier films missing out on nominations there. These questions are not out of place on this forum. Are you scared of the Bachchans because they know who most of you are!

Yes you do occasionally criticise others but not as regularly and with the same glee as YRF. But, I on the other hand DO NOT need to make derogatory remarks to make my point unlike you. It is the last resort! You should be embarrased of your self.

PFC bashes everyone (even the beloved Anurag) so you need a reality check. Plus most here are not interested in the meaningless Indian awards which seem to have given you heartburn.

The reality is that YRF has been in decline and the audience response to their movies must be taken into consideration. Even when the movie is a hit like Fanaa, they are still taking a serious subject like terrorism and making it into some completely unrealistic plot. I expect the same from New York.

No offense to you, but you come off as fanatical rather than rational.

You’re entitled to feel the way you do so but I kind of think you haven’t been reading PFC that often. Its a collective awakening of cinema enthusiasts who want to push the quality of cinema. In that, if a certain producer continues with the same formula of movies and propagates personal agenda then we will want to trash the production house. None of use here have any grudge against a person. its the CINEMA behind a person, an actor, a director or producer that we trash/respect. Now for your questions:
    .
    .
“I would like to read some comments on the great Mrs. Bachchan’s remarks on her bahu not winning the BA award at IIFA and her son winning.” Thats too gossipy aint it? Like one of those K soaps. Dont worry we covered better news on AB here. Like the initial rushes for Pa, or the film with Ben Kingsley, his reactions to Slumdog etc.

“I would like to know peoples opinion on Mr. Ashutosh Gowariker’s comments.”
We had a post on this and the post had the most intelligent discussion around the topic than anywhere on the net. But wait, you’ll get to know here how ashu thinks, what triggered jodha or Lagaan or how he missed out on Maine Pyaar Kiya. How much time it took to write lagaan. His next with Priyanka Chopra ( What’s your Rashhee)etc. Thats more cinema aint it?
    .
    .
“I would like to know why people here aren’t upset at the worthier films missing out on nominations”: Okay I dont know what to say. This is the exact reason why PFC had started user-led film awards to appreciate films that were genuinely good. Where were you at that time? Here’s the link: http://passionforcinema.com/hindi-cinema-recognition-2008/
    .
    .

My “bolti is bandh” because there is nothing left to say. I made my point and not a single comment has made me think anything different then that YRF is PassionForCinema’s favourite “punching bag”.
I wonder, and perhaps you could provide me with a link, whether such contemptive comments were made when the trailers for “kambakht Ishq” and “love Aaj Kal” came out. Those look like real “innovative” films.
Akshay Kumar was so successful with “Hare Rama, Hare Krishna” bringing in the crowds for BB that he has decided to repeat that formula with “Mangalam” for KI. We Hindu are after all not that bothered with people making fun of our religious chants, are we.
In the final analysis we live in a democracy. You should and will, no doubt, exercise your right not to watch DBH when it comes out.

  30. Alysha Alysha says:

Just goes to show how biased and entrenched you are in your views.

I typed in KI and the only thing I got about that film was an article on censorship By KM. That what you call criticism similar to that being levelled at any YRF film. Have I missed any article ridiculing KI or LAK. Perhaps you would kindly point me in the right direction. And anyway it is usually reserved for the time when the film actually opens and is playing in the cinemas.

I appreciate constructive criticism like any “normal” person but victimisation of anything or anyone without just cause is deplorable to me. If YRF are guilty of something than so are the majority of other bollywood film-makers but of course making “fun” of them is not “fashionable”.

Really, it is time-consuming to fight a losing battle with all you lot but I would not have it any other way.

I like many film-makers and films by different producers and I only took up for YRF because time and time again whenever a YRF was coming up for release I kept reading the same old stuff against them. In most other articles on PFC the arguments and povs were intelligent with positive and negative views but when it came to them it was so derogatory that it made me take up the case for them. Thankfully New York and DBH will enjoy a great audience despite what you may think.

The people you should really be angry with are the audience. Because without the audience YRF would cease to exist. May they will, if enough people think like you lot. Perhaps then you could move on to some other lousy film-makers. They would quite like a mention sometimes I’m sure.

Call me ignorant, obsessed or embarrassing if it makes you feel better but I am none of those things. An objective mind reading the comments above and other comments on YRF would think it is you lot who are “obsessed”. My only wrong (in your eyes) is to take up the case for YRF but I would do it for anyone singled out (wrongly of course).

YRF deserves the bashing, be it their monopolistic practices — chaining up best of the talents of the industry forcing them to slave for creating candy floss, assembly line movies.

What we find here on PFC is a sample of the public opinion, this opinion was also greatly evident in the outcome of the big budget movies produced by YRF in the recent times.

Hoping YRF gets back the magic and fun, their movies used to have not so long ago.

Anand & Alysha – why can you not accept it as a fact that people visiting these forums DO hate YRF and their type of movies? You seem to share an opinion that this kind of behavior is ‘encouraged’ by the forum owners. Stop thinking as if this is some conspiracy theory. YRF has enjoyed an unopposed and unabashed stardom before we could express ourselves on forums like this. And I pick YRF because it is one of the few (and definitely the most prominent) production house which still gives us same monotonous crap [Other being Subhash Ghai stuff - if you even care about his movies now].
Alysha – it is not in the hands of these 20 or so commentators to make a movie successful or flop. So year, may be DBH will become a hit. People like yourself are too sure of it, and good luck to that. Hopefully YRF will invest the money earned from that to some better film. Just the way no one can change your opinion, you cannot change the same of people. And if people who don’t prefer YRF brand of cinema so constantly and so frequently thrown at them, live with it.

I just want to put my take on YRF across…I think the next genuine gem from them would be Shimit’s-Jaideep’s film ROCKET SINGH….otherwise I think YRF is losing touch with the changing tastes of the audience…Sorry to say DIL BOLE HADIPPA is NOT as exciting as Vishal Bhardwaj’s KAMINEY…[both stars SHAHID KAPOOR] it’s time the industry need to realize the difference between filmmakers and Proposal-makers. Today you can easily smell a film from a proposal…but the people who matter and know better are failing to sense it and that’s the reason why they are not doing well at the BO…I do not know how NEW YORK is faring at the BO but I definitely think it’s ot a good film. We had enough of that candyfloss colors and hollow content that most of the YRF offers…they all have begun to look and smell the same..they appear fake and synthetic…Since YRF is still the number uno production house in the Industry..they have the power to change the way we look at commercial cinema…among things they need to do is to scarp their 3 films deals they do with their so called ‘Directors’ who are mostly directly / indirectly related to the Chopras or their associates…Instead they should just look for fresh stories and directors who have the sensibilities and the vision to make films the way should be made…by giving similar looks to all their films..they are making the mistake of making all the films appear same and preictable…it they do not change then I won’t be surprised sooner or later it will be either UTV or Stduio 18 that will be ruling the roost!
