Nicely done.Love it!!!
Interesting. Music sounds great (ARR right?)!
what is this movie about?
wht else to say..this is the guy who gave us RDB & ppl in India, a political expression(candle light vigils)..btw very promising music..its ARR again..isnt it..lookin forward eagerly
aur haan..the music reminds me of Swades..& thats a good thing
@Badmash, here’s the story of Delhi 6: American-born Roshan (Abhishek Bachchan), who brings his ailing grandmother back to India. Little does he know that the quick trip will turn into the longest journey of his life – a journey within. The backdrop of the story is the ancient walled city of Delhi, a character in herself. She represents the chaos, religion, beliefs and ethos of the Indian people. The pin code of the city is 110006, and with pride of love they call her Delhi-6.
Nothing special
Story sounds intriguing. But the promo looks bad. Very Yashraj type. I’m very sceptical of this project. This must be the project where he hired Syd Field.
fucking amazing..i LOVED it, just get a feeling that if not handled properly, the movie could well turn out to be mother of all cliches, but nevertheless looks damn promising..releasing date ny1?
Feb 20 it seems (http://www.businessofcinema.com/news.php?newsid=11092). Looks like Dev D has also been delayed to Feb.
Badmash @ 6
The movie is based upon certain incidents in the director Raykesh Omprakash Mehra’s youth spent in Old Delhi!!!
Wow!
Brilliant….I’m already in love with the music, long live Mehra and Rahman!
Most of us are going by our gut feeling while commenting on a trailer.either boring/interesting or regular.
.
As making a movie involves different aspects like story, screenplay, editing, direction etc. making a trailer also involves selecting scenes, background music, editing,a story board etc.
.
Can anybody discuss these finer points of trailer making and analyse these promos in a detailed way.ie.Why a promo clicked and why other one didn’t.
.
It will be great actually!
Interesting promo there – I liked the opening edits – moving from the namaaz shot to the slowmo flying Ramlila characters in the next – neatly done. The music accompanying these shots is nice too. ARR & Prasoon Joshi, we look fwd to this one!
Also the old doors of the walled city opening to an urban megapolis – which does look like the US or something. Not an Indian metropolis for sure.
And then the white pigeon – symbolizing harmony, peace, etc – put together the first two shots – Muslim and Hindu sentiments, etc – I think every1 gets the drift of what this movie could be about.
Mother of all cliches, well, possible. But I hope Rakyesh doesn’t disappoint after RDB – that would be such a sacrilege!
Good to see Sonam back, especially minus all her fake Sawariyaa characterization.
The one thing I didn’t like at all was the marble engraved “delhi-6″ – it just doesn’t stand out, esp when you so vividly remember the graffiti colors of the “Inquilab Zindabad” and “Be a Rebel” slogans of the first RDB teaser.
I personally would have liked to retain “dilli 6″ instead of “delhi 6″ – I think the former had a lot more character to it.
Also, too much screen time devoted to text credits instead of visuals – but then that could deliberate too
Great Idea Bharat…
I agree when you say all of us are going by our gut feeling….but the important thing is what makes us go for that gut feeling…
I am no expert but I will put my thoughts….I would say the background music plays a big..big role in what you feel about this or any other trailer/teaser…
I first saw the trailer in my office without the music on and it looked at very best a little wiered….I was counting minutes to go home and watch it again with sound on…
It looked totally different and made total different sense when watched it with music….I found the music to be joyful…..but not carelessly or bindas joyful….it’s joyful with some deep meaning behind it….
Each of the scenes shown in teaser I believe different aspects coverd in movie but not necessary telling the story (after all its only a teaser…)
like the scene with Jama Masjid saying something about religion…and our belief system
like the scene with Sonam dancing ….saying something about joyful youth and love….
like the scene with performers on stage …saying something about our culture….
…also the last scene with sonam standing in center is some place is delhi but the picutrization shows it like Times Square NY….also Abhishek looking in distance and seeing the Jama Masjid on his left and statue of liberty on right…..all this shows some foreign (NY/USA) connection…..
White pegion shown in 3-4 different places may be some motif off which we will come to know when we see the movie….
P.S. Did I mention I really loved the teaser
Funny how Sonam Kapoor is wearing salwar-kameez only (at least in the teaser) for the second time in her career. I hope she doesn’t become our permanent Indian-culture-Indian-tradition naari..she’s a hot babe!! ;)
@Tejas.. Have you seen those photos of Sonam kapoor in a party which was leaked from her facebook A/C.!! ;)
He is hot !!
cough cough..
a little off topic… but on the comments..
I found Sonam pretty hot in Saawariya itself… maybe it’s just me… sigh…
is it a swades again? i dont kno wwhy but not too kicked , it seems cliched ..but then some say it is based on the monkey man episode, that makes it intriguing..whats this secrecy over the plot i dont think its good marketing .
promo looks nice..guys u cant miss this film. the best part in the film is “ramlila”..see the special effect work done for that..see how newyork gets mixed with delhi.
wonder how come i know so much..well its becoz i hav worked as an actor in this film .i am playing “laxman” in ramlila which runs parallel to main track..half of post production work is done in hollywood ..some here in prana .amazing effects, amazing music, most imp amazing script..i assure u friends its better than RANG DE BASANTI – amitriyaan aka laxman
Dear Amit,
Lest u get carried away, hope u don’t disclose anymore about the film than the promos want to. Legal action withstanding.
All the best.
Warm Regards,
Sandeep Modi
this film gonna rock. lets see if its better than rang de basanti
hope so hemant.have you seen the title track.its simply great.the akharas, lanes, drama, mythological nautanki everything is same like original.this is the magic of great director.when is the music launch ?
Abhishek for the first time is looking better in this movie. I guess to some extent he will be able to remove his gay icon image.
Sexy movie gud story n most imp’ly Sonam’s awesome throughout
