Ladies and Gentlemen make way! as the king of comedy is back and how.
Govinda returned made his comback a couple of years back with bhagam bhag but his fans were left dissapointed with the length (or the lack of it) of his role in the movie…i still remember poeple in the theatre saying “picture to theek hai par govinda to tha hi nahi”….i am sure his fans will not be dissapointed with this one as he is practically there in every frame….
We all know the story..its same as earlier govinda david dhawan movies in terms of story like/plot but the gags are fresh and they fullfill their purpose of making the audience laugh…
Govinda is a rich business man who is married to Sushmita..who actually controls everything even her husband. Govinda is having an affair with a model called dolly (lara dutta). After a point sush gets suspicious of her husband’s affair and projects a waiter (ritesh) as lara’s boyfried. but our sush baby is not convinced and hires a private detective (ranvir shorey) to keep an eye on govinda. Meanwhile dolly’s discarded boyfriend returns to the scene (sohail khan) and then starts the actual fun that arises due to situations these characters find themselves in….
Ritesh is first grade in his role…he matches govinda (well almost) in every scene. There are few scenes were he proves his comic talent. Watch out for the scene with govinda in a washroom and also when lara sees her photographs in his bathroom. Sushmita has a smaller role and she potrays it well…Lara is getting better and better with every movie. she looks million dollars and also acts well..but the real hero of the movie is our funny man govinda. He takes every scene to a different level and how. Overall the movie is 2 hours and 10 mins of dhamaal with some peppy songs. Two songs…bebo and mere naal stand out rest are ok..The movie has an interesting climax and clearly suggests that there is a sequel in the pipeline. It is probably the best david dhawan and govinda movie since deewana mastana and yes in terms of content and the laughs its better than partner which was blockbuster.
It is a perfect weekend movie which promises and delivers laughs in abundance…go catch it with your entire family and you will get more than your money’s worth….
***1/2 out of 5
Are u sure Pranay?? Coz now I’m expecting the world from the film.
Some how I am getting a little suspicious…. I came here to check out early reviews and I see 3.5* and 5* reviews (for WUS)… While Pranay here is writing paeans about govinda, Cherish on the other review stresses – “ideally I would give it a 4 but since it’s Dharma prod, I’ll give it a 5″ WTF!!!!
ON THE WHOLE… I hope dinner mein aaj kaali daal nahin hai….
you won’t believe the whole 2 dozen ratings comments we received in under 5 minutes 12 hours ago. It was like someone’s office was on fire trying to rate 5 on Guerrilla Reviews with 15 people.
HAHAHAHA…. I can see the full page posters for these in TOI tomorrow morning
“The best david dhawan and govinda movie” *** and 1/2 – passionforcinema.com
“Very nice movie”

Nadeem-Shravan still active?
I guess Shravan composes under the NS banner…
It has the most wafer thin plot among all David Dhawan- Govinda combination of films so far.The music certainly is nothing to be talking about. But all said & done the movie is still a time pass entertainer. And this is only due to the casting.Govinda,Riteish & Lara are more then adequate for their roles.Sushmita’s role is more of an extended cameo.even the support cast of Rajpal Yadav, Sohail Khan,Ranvir Sheorey etc do a decent job.a decent entertainer in the end.
Its actually a 2.5 star rating from my side.
With Life Partner and now Do Knot Disturb,Govinda seems to be slowly getting back into his groove.Hope to see more better work from him.
Now I’ve got to see this movie!
This is certainly David Dhawans weakest.
Except the govinda’s Dolly Dolly Dolly jig, nothing tickled me. And I guess the decibel level of the characters is increasing with every of DDs films. This film managed to be irritiating rather than just a bore, thanks to the ear splitting comedy and the slap punctuated scenes. And DD is the man who designed a hilarious climax out of our heroes slapping the villians!!!! This is not the DD I love
Partner clicked at the BO which resulted in DKD. I hope DKD doesn’t click or else
AAeee Yeh kya hai??? Boss last thing i want is to use Google Translate to understand a comment.
they have just completely lost their minds…while judging this movie… firstly i pity those reviewers who rated such a nice movie so badly…These so called-experts claim to have mastered everything of cinema and cinematography but by their judgment of Do knot disturb i think they still have a lot of things to learn about cinema and its characteristics before analyzing or criticizing a movie.. Reviewers say this movie does not have any story …. first of all i would like to share with you that this movie is a remake of French comedy film “la doublure” its English version ” the valet” starring Gad Elmaleh Daniel Auteuil
Alice Taglioni directed by one of the most famous director Francis Verber…If you watch this movie you will find many similarity in this movie….in fact Do knot Disturb has alomost same story as ” la doublure” and for your information this french movie was very much appreciated by critics and public….now here the story is same ..so what ’s gone wrong with our reviewer…that they started giving so bad reviews of Do knot Disturb ….if the same movie had the tag of any western director or actor …would have they criticized the same way they criticized do knot disturb.. no … never because they take it for granted that whatever comes from West is “Best” …ir this movie DKd had any big name involved in it …they *(reviewers) would never dared to do so harm by criticizing it so badlyif you don’t believe go and check you will find the story of both films is interestingly the same .and if you watch the french version …….so when story is the same … considering that this french movie got very good response and was well appreciated among reviewers and public…how our media is targeting this film for not carrying any story…………..should I say that they (Indian reviewers ) are more intelligent than international reviewers…???????????
Mick la salle ,Lisa Nesselson of Variety and Los Angeles Times they all famous critics have appreciated the French version…..now what’s wrong with our reviewers …could they not understand properly the theme and purpose of film or did they lose their sense of humor while judging this film …or did they forget that a comedy movie is for entertainment…. so in my view .. they all who did not like film … they need a rethink….. i found do knot Disturb as much entertaining as “la doublure” in fact some more massalas were added to the film to make more entertaining…in my point of view you will find do knot disturb more hilarious than ” la doublure” ………..the only thing i did not like is that it is a remake and it has been copied but is this our purpose of watching a movie……NO ….the single and only thing is we should be entertained and it does give us satisfying entertainment….so my dear friends stop putting your ideas here and there and criticizing the movie without having any proper knowledge of cinema… Govinda in this film has done a marvelous job , his comic timing is best and he did the same in do KNot disturb as Daniel Auteuil has done in “la doublure” … movie has been adapted to Indian culture..adding some witty and street jokes in movie which make it even much greater…overall do knot disturb is a quite entertaining movie….those who did not like need to give a rethink on it………
A bit late on my part …nevertheless
I’m in a minority here – did not like it much. Govinda is in full form but David Dhawan appears to have lost his touch.
BUT
You must watch this on the big screen if you want to see the whole of Sushmita Sen!
