Drona… the trailer comes in…

The long in production film ‘Drona’ has its first teaser release. Not sure what the hoopla was all about. Caught a line on NDTV praising the trailer as having ‘captivating special effects‘. So we went searching for the trailer and sure enough Eros has put the trailer on the web. But the idiots at Eros have put the trailer on YouTube and then blocked the ‘embedding’ function, so no one can put the trailer on their websites except go to YouTube and watch it. Can someone explain to those at Eros who made this decision that the whole point of putting it on YouTube is to spread the video on the web as fast as possible via viewing there or any site which embeds the video. Your views still get counted on YouTube whatever site they be viewed from… Jeeeezzzz… talk about lack of understanding the Open Platform… Why put it on YouTube, if you do not want to freely distribute it on the web? Meanwhile we are still trying to find the ‘captivating special effects’ that NDTV proclaimed in its segment. To be fair the -faces in the sand- does get our attention, while the rest needs to be flushed down the drain. Here’s the ‘Blocked for embedding’ trailer on YouTube.

When I open this link, in the ‘more from Eros’ pane, scenes from a gem of the movie show up – Kanti Shah’s Loha. Well, I won’t be able to see the trailer with such happy distractions. ;)

The special effects dont seem great….looks like one of the films that will manage to generate enough hype but unfortunately may not be able to deliver the goods…

Mummy/Mummy returns…anyone??? Is there a real dearth of good ideas for special effect sequences? I still dont believe we did it for THE GOLDEN COMPASS. Cant find a single original sequence in indian films. i feel we are far far behind holywood in terms of sfx. is there anyway we can catch them? if a few years down the line our sfx can be good, imagine theirs! Well i am planning to enjoy these hollywood sfx saste mein…planning to always go for the morning shows…as cheap as 70 bucks….good na?

Did Eros delete their account or did YouTube suspend their account after this PFC post? YouTube mentions “This video has been removed due to terms of use violation”
