Big on ideas but SHORT IN LENGTH – the new world of Short Films

The storyteller in you is awaiting a chance – a chance to turn an experience into a story, a chance to see a story turn into a film and capture a myriad of human expressions in the process. Filmmakers – pack your bags, grab your cameras, tie your shoelaces and just get out there. If you have the intent there is a story waiting to be captured at every step.

This is your chance to win exciting prizes, interact with film experts and show your artistic creation to a large audience.

FORUMFORFILMS* brings to you its first short film festival – your very own forum for expression – your very own FILMBOOTH*.

So download the attached entry form*, fill-it and send it along with your film.

Do remember, LAST DATE FOR RECEIVING YOUR ENTRIES IS 30th NOVEMBER 2008.

“Why Short Films?”

A New Genre in Filmmaking, A New Breed of Filmmakers

Imagine, what if the movie that you went to watch in a cinema hall ends in half an hour, of course sans a popcorn break?

What if you could step out of your office, watch a movie and step back in, all done in about an hour?

How about watching a full movie on your mobile phone while waiting in a queue or at the airport?

Welcome to the new world of SHORT FILMS – The Next Big Thing in entertainment. Short films are redefining the rights and wrongs in the art of film-making. Today’s film-maker does not want to invest all his time in one big project; he would rather develop multiple (although shorter) films for different audiences. Even today’s film audience does not want to be tied to a 120-minute film anymore. Instead, they choose to watch five quality films within 60 minutes.

Thanks to this new phenomenon, the stereotypes have been challenged and a new, emerging and daring breed of film-makers has thus emerged.

About ForumForFilms
ForumForFilms – An emerging short films community

The short film- makers traditionally never had many takers for their films; however times have now changed and the gap is gradually disappearing with many new forums emerging just focused on short films. FORUMFORFILMS – (a community for short film makers) is one such platform which allows the users to upload their films and showcase it to large audiences over the web. It is the “YOU TUBE of short films” having films as short in duration as 30 seconds and being fictional and non documentary in style and character.

ForumForFIlms was established by four film enthusiasts* coming together from different cultural and professional backgrounds. Their passion for films, esp short films, transcended into creating this platform for the film makers as well as the film-loving audiences. The Team’s vision is to create a community of film enthusiastic people who interact on a regular basis (either in person or through other media like blogs, social networks etc.) in order to bring value addition to the art of short film making.

The Forum supports this emerging revolution of short film making that has originated from our cameras & mobile phones. It is another voice telling the world – “Those who have dominated film-making till now, move away……the new-gen film makers are here to stay!!”
