FOR ADULTS ONLY: THE END OF PFC…
I came across Oz through his website desitrain by reading the most outrageous and hilarious public rape being performed, never before has a victim enjoyed the experience and I can say it with authority because it was me and my film which Oz had written about. I had tears in my eyes, I was holding the side of my stomach and wished so badly that what if Khalid Mohammed could go back to writing like this then my Sunday mornings reading TOI reviews would be the same again.
Sirjee and Betalal are two of Oz’s finest creations and I ended up meeting them last night. Sirjee was having beer with a nimbu floating in a bottle of Kingfisher as he couldn’t afford Corona and Betalal was having vodka was sugarcane juice dubbed Ganna Singh. (PS: Ganna Singh is not a sardar joke. To anyone from the sardar organization planning to approach the HC to ban all sardar jokes, Ganna Singh isn’t a joke!)
Anyway coming back to the topic, it was a very serious discussion. For the benefit of al non Hindi speakers it also has English subtitles Bollywood style!
Sirjee: Dekha! Bola tha us chutiye ko PFC mat bana mat bana mat bana
Sub: See! I told that from-the-pussy not to make PFC not to make not to make
Betalal: Kyon sirjee kya hua? Koi lawsuit ho gaya kya?
Sub: Why Sirjee what happened? Some lawsuit happened what?
Sirjee: NAH! Koi lawsuit wohsuit nahin hua, us gaanje idealist Oz ka dil tut gaya!
Sub: No! Some lawsuit whosuit not happen, that bald list of ideas Oz heart broke!
Betalal: Idealist? Socialist, Communist aur capitalist toh suna tha, yeh idealist kya hai?
Sub: List of idea? List of socials, list of communes and list of capital, I have heard but list of idea is what?
Sirjee: Betalal yeh woh bimaari hai joki Aids se bhi khatarnak hai ek baar lag jaaye toh phir dimaag ki gaand maar deti hai
Sub: Red Son this is that disease that is more dangerous than Aids, once you get it then brains arse gets beaten
Betalal: Dimaag ki gaand? Sirjee visualize nahin ho raha
Sub: Brains arse? Sirr G I cannot see!!!
Sirjee: Chutmaarike! Dimaag ki maa-behen ho gayi!
Sub: Beaten Pussy! Brains mother sister happened!
Betalal: Ohhhhhh!
Sub: Awwwww!
Sirjee: Waiter ek aur beer nimbu maarke! Haan….??….??…..
Sub: Waiter beat one more beer with lemon! Yes…….??……??
Betalal (sees the floating question marks): Haan Sirjee, aap Oz ke bare mein bata rahen the!
Sub: Yes Sir G, you were telling about Oz you were!
Sirjee: Disillusioned hai! PFC ke authoron se, kuch ne PFC ko use kiya, kuch ke paas time nahin hai, sab kuch galat ho raha hai, uske dimaag mein aise vichaar aa rahen hai
Sub: He has no illusion! From PFC ladies, some did PFC, some could not keep time, everything going wrong is, his mind has like this questions coming in
Betalal (laughing outrageously): Usko bhi Ganna Singh pila do
Sub: (HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA) Make him also drink Sugar cane horns two
The two continued chatting through the night
I left them, thinking about Oz
So my dear Oz I have decided to write to you an open letter
Firstly don’t underestimate what you have achieved!
In 6 months PFC has become a talking point for a whole bunch of men and women who dream about cinema, some involved in this field, some wanting to be a part of it and some plain interested in this field!
You with your sheer hard work have brought together a whole bunch of people, so stop selling yourself short.
If you find yourself disillusioned then don’t be, things take time, ideas take time to shape up.
You have already taken a first big step, now just keep at it things will work out, fact is PFC has a fanatic and loyal following and it can only get bigger, we just need to make sure that we maintain democracy and everyone can voice an opinion even if its against our own.
Authors will come and go, some will remain for a long time, some may just write a post or two, some may even use the forum, it is up to us to create safeguards and also understand that the authors will at times not have the time to write regularly or compose their thoughts. At times they just may not have anything to say that comes from within.
But know this, everyone visits the site daily.
Everyone cares for every word and thought written here.
PFC is a dream for an outsider, its his window to this world and the people who are usually inaccessible. It also allows some members to meet and work alongside some of the authors.
Only PFC made this possible. You keep making calls from the US, you work all night trying to keep the servers going and the trolls out, do you think it doesn’t mean anything?
Banish all thoughts of disbanding PFC, one year from now you will be kicking yourself for even thinking such a stupid thought!
Everything in life is cyclic, things maybe slow now, they will pick up again.
Think of this as the first wave (Anish Kuruvilla this one is for you) and soon we will have children of PFC who have been inspired by the philosophy and courage that is inherent out here, we will have Return of the Killer tomatoes and Ganja smoking Gannas coming soon to a theater near you!
Oz, you are a dear friend and a fellow cinephile and don’t let the struggles of trying to create a Utopian dream come true get to you.
I have been meaning to tell you this for sometime, but I read a conversation on PFC club which left me disturbed. This is the time when you should be gathering all your resources for the second wave and set your plan in motion.
Things can only get better and they will. I hope Betalal and Sirjee sleep better tonight.
So Oz…..is this THE END OF PFC………..??………..OR THE BEGINNING……………??
Let me leave you with the floating question marks

Suparn: after a long time but spicy one.
Seems today is “Meeting Friday”. people are charged to write aftera long gap.
In tune with your post, there is a poem of Great Tagore. Hope Oz reads and likes it:
Not exactly but meaning is like this:
I could not finish so many of my creations
and they are left half done
But I know O Nature!
What I could not sing,
What I could not play,
will be playing there
forever on your forehead!
Though your open letter is for Oz but as it was open so we also enjoyed peeping in.
Thanks
Suparn: I can only say that … this is the most awaited article on PFC …. most awaited by a cinelover. Sometimes i feel(wish i m wrong) some authors silently protest this by not writing on this forum for some time now … but hail to Suparn for finally speaking openly for the good of PFC and all the PFC lovers.
All the best to PFC.
hmmmmm good one suparn sir …. kaafi lamba break liya is baar aapney
Will be intrested to think what Oz thinks of both this Sirjeee betelal episode and the thought behind ur post :-?
OZ
dude, there are hundredz, thousandz of movie fanatics all around the globe, who feels disgusted when,
they watch a bad Indin flick, they need some place to lay out their anguish.
But to their dismay, gets none.
The onez who r fortunate knockz on the door of
PFC and they are welcomed, with open handz
That anguish at PFC instead of turning into rage, miracuosly bcomz a creative flux, that
flux lead them to create stories, write scenes,
that surprises them too. They make their own moviz, they may be called short movies, not a 35 mm dream
but that is the movie they wants to see, that is their BK, Chall, Bhram. That is what they want.
I know, when I am unable to write, I come here
and read stuff of fellow film buffs, what they think, what hurdlez they are facing, what they want to do.
The restrain of my heart vanishes, when I read that, I am not alone in this world, who wann to
change the way India Film Industry (IFI)is churning out movies
And that happened bcoz PFC
THAT HAPPENED BCOZ OF YOU
I never said it to you
But OZ
THANX A LOT
THANX A LOT
for creating PFC
And
Suparn, Chall wz a kewl story, nis work dude, hop to see your next movie in the dark hall
Oh Teri…. calling you in 5.
Well written Suparn…=d>
Superb! Superb!Superb! Lage raho PFC!!! And great piece, Suparn!
“PFC is a dream for an outsider, its his window to this world and the people who are usually inaccessible. It also allows some members to meet and work alongside some of the authors”
Suparn, when you said this I swear I thought you were talking specifically about me. And I know I wasn’t the only one.
Oz, believe me when I say that PFC is much more than a website devoted to film and film-fanatics. Its much more than a forum to share our thoughts, vent our frustrations, and nuture our creativity.
PFC is a community. Its where filmmakers like Anurag Kashyap, Suparn Verma, Sudhir Mishra and others SPEAK to us, as if we were all sitting at the home of a close friend.
Its a community where guys like Machar Kumar and many others can share their experiences, dreams and most of all their struggles with us, and where we can put a hand on their shoulder and say “Dammit man don’t give up! We’re struggling WITH you, and we’re HERE for you”.
You can’t get that anywhere else man.
Thanks Oz for creating this community and most of all for letting us be a part of it.
our school principals around christmas used to blackmail us with the threats of completely boycotting our xmas party… we used to beg her not to do such a stuff and that we wld behave properly…
hope u get the drift…
dont think about discarding/breaking/ending PFC…
it probably started as your baby but now id not b rong to say that it has become our best friend(of course slight exaggeration probably… but still).
Oz Bhaiya! Public ko question marks ke answer chahiye idhar…
I am already depressed today…and on top of that there are rumours about PFC. I am not gonna let that happen, I cant loose twice in Day yaar.
= Saurabh, there is no such thing happening. Sirjee and Betelal have been tainted by the movies and are known to spread rumors even if it means speaking trash about their creator a.k.a. me/oz. As you can see, I do not wish to find myself dead in my hotel room and therefore will clear the rumors that there is no such thing as closing PFC. I have promised Suparn to finance his next 200 films (make that “completely original” films) if he stops writing such posts (the motivation and encouragement though was absolutely great Suparn!)…
In any case I would like you to come over this evening with Vijay for a Friday round of drinks
=d> Brilliant! You have made wait long enough Suparn. But, what a come back! Awesome!
// Saurabh - Lucky you… (*) Oz ke ghar pe daaru? [Hinglish: Oz's house at alcohol?] Have one for me, mate.
WB,
The translation should read like this
Oz ke ghar pe daaru?
Sub: Oz’s house on alcohol
:D thank you, Sir G!!
Good,Bad, Grey exists everywhere. the readers are smart enough to differentiate between them through the first few lines of a post.so do no let go of the good just because of the bad.
Hey Oz, if you keep this site running I might tell you who I am!! Don’t ask me when but I will call you and speak to u!! haha if this is incentive enough!! What’s ur number btw!
“PFC is a dream for an outsider, its his window to this world and the people who are usually inaccessible.” …perfectly said.. i believe ppl all around the world feel this way about PFC and much more…
Ozzzzzzzzzz, there is a special treat from MK. He wants to reveal (not body, u sick mind) but his identity.
MK, when will u be doing it?:-w like me, lots of authors are waiting.
>>Hey Oz, if you keep this site running I might tell you who I am!
yaar muzzy excitement mein aadh-adhura padhaliya??????????(ill try my hand at the translation-lover muzzy excitement within half-missing read)
he is gonna disclose to oz
Naheeeeeeen!!!! yeh nahi ho sakta…..am just a new regular reader of this site just becos am interested in films, theatre etc …if this site shuts down..am sorely going to miss it… somewhere somehow i feel part of it even though i stand in the wings to catch just one angle of the play on stage….
today is 26th, seems like everybody went to oz’s house on friday and slowly getting to work…monday morning blues……
chal gud i guess software enggs rnt the only one to have blues out of frustration….
PFC is the best thing i discovered last year!
I wish we had this platform to connect like this when i had arrived in bombay.
it took me months to even meet a AD. I was a complete newcomer with zero contacts….
with this it will help serious people connect so easily.
ofcourse there will be pretenders & glamor struck people too…that thats comes with the game!
SO My Good wishes!
was it by any chance a planned thing for 1st april?
and does any one remember wat happend last year 1st april, not sure if PFC existed back then… but if it did, wat happend last year?
I don’t know if this will make it through the stringent editing but if it does,I would like to thank Oz for creating a wonderful window to the world of what I call ’sensible’ cinema.I discovered PFC only yesterday.I am nothing more than an avid moviegoer but then movies are made for people like me.Please don’t ever think of closing down.
