For Real leads Indian award surge at AFFF

For Real, an English film by debutant director-producer Sona Jain, has won the Best Screenplay, Best Producer, Best Actor and Best Actress awards at the The Asian Festival of First Films (AFFF) in Singapore.
The Best Actor and Best Actress award winners, incidentally, are the two child actors in the film – Sriharsh Sharma Churai and Zoya S Hasan.
For Real shared the best screenplay award with Avantika Hari’s Land Gold Woman, which won the Foreign Correspondents Association Purple Orchid Award.
Faiza Ahmad Khan’s heartwarming Supermen of Malegaon has brought more cheer to India, winning the Best Documentary, Best Director for Documentary (jointly) and Best Cinematographer/Editor (Shweta Venkat) awards.
Vinoo Choliparambil’s Vitthal continued its magnificent festival run, winning the Best Short Film Award.
The jury that chose Japanese film Looking for Anne, for the Best Film and Best Director awards, included Ana Kokkinos (Australia), Chris Lee (Hawaii) and Kabir Khan (India).
