Sad to say this, but a film needs to be promoted but not to this extent. I can’t watch Frozen after all the hoopla.

“promoted but not to this extent”…
          .
the promotion / hype / hoopla is just here bro, on pfc. that too just by the fact that it recently won 2 national awards. if u scourge the papers u might see a 4×4 small b&w ad of frozen somewhere, that too if u have perfect eyesight. so much for promotions in the world of dil bole hadippa.
          .
the rest of the world and its cuzin have lined up to watch 9, QGM and in some extreme cases even fox. u choosin to watch qgm over frozen is fine, but the reason y u wont see frozen… well, dat leaves me puzzled. anyways, tera paisa, tera time… tu jaane / rab jaane.

I loved this film. And, I can see where Tushar is coming from. I can think of a handful of films I stayed away from because I had heard so much before the release that I lost interest by the time the film was shown in the theatre.

One of my favourite movie reviewers wrote a review of Slumdog Millionaire that stated that the audience should see the film ASAP before the hype and the talk caused them to lose interest.

            It happens.

“not to this extent” – this phrase never applies to PFC. What happened with our QGMs, Sankat Cities, Tim Burtons and what-nots! You see anywhere outside PFC, and the attitude of people is just that PFCians go all-in for the films they promote.

well, isn’t that the way to go… ALL-IN? rather than half-hearted, half-baked support, which usually leads to mundu?

In Kolkata, there was no promotion of the movie. Telegraph didn’t even carry it in the newspaper listings and hardly any one knows the movie is being telecast.

OMG this is unbelievable. I wake up early, mast naha-dhoke, scent maarke, i leave for fame, a minor accident happens enroute, thanks to auto madar, i end up spending 300 bucks on auto, reach almost on time and then i see a freaking son of a quickgun murugun ‘SOLD OUT’ sign in front of FROZEN. bangalore chose to watch Frozen over kaminey, qgm, ugly truth, dragonball et al. bahut bura laga, but eventually khushi ke aansoo nikal aaye.

    • OMG! Is it true? I really can’t believe it. We were 8 people on Saturday. 3 left within the first 30 minutes and 5 of us finished the movie.

I am really happy to hear this. So did you watch the movie? Or you didn’t get any ticket?

  8. hmm, had flown to kolkata mixing my business trip at guwahati/kol with the release of frozen at kol.

    .

many ppl didnt know abt it on friday, i watched it on sat with around 40 ppl in theatre, out of which 15 ppl were of my own gang. hvtried to create awareness among my frnds, but kol is too big a place to generate any universal appeal.

    .

heard the movie is for only one week.

    .

blore sun housefull is music to ears….

  9. Pratyush Pratyush says:

Yeah the movie is just for one week in Kolkata at least. I went on Sunday and there were 15 or so people. The woman sitting beside me was the mother of the assistant director, chatted with her.

The movie didn’t even find a place in newspaper listing of movies by The Telegraph, the largest selling newspaper in the city. Else I am sure the movie would have recieved a larger audience.

I have talked a bit about Frozen in my fortnightly review of movies. Read if interested. Loved the movie, the cinematography and the acting.
