Getting in Sync!

I am waking up every day, little by little.
When i recognised film-making as my calling and started out it was a different experience i had in my mind. i had visualised people who would be all the time yapping about films- foriegn films, regional films, desi films…their storyline, characters, screenplay, dislogues, shot-taking…and the likes. Its been a year since i am on the trail and havent come across any one remotely closer to my imaginary profiles! I had almost given up when on PFC i came across all you virtual(as yet to me) beings who are the ones i was looking for.
Coming back to my sync with reality- I’ve been on a feature film set for 24 days- thats how young i am. I have gone to watch shoots before, hidden behind pillars and vans on some seriously ‘closed’ sets but this is my first film where i am in the thick of things. I am the second AD and hence i am in and around all the shouting and screaming- a fact i had not anicipated when i first started.
I still sometimes wonder if all that panic is required, when u r tired and crestfallen and an experienced spot or dressman comes and tells you-”Arre, yeh toh kuch jyaada hi hai, XYZ Director toh kitne aaraam se kaam karte hain, ekdum shaanti se”- it feels good, u see hope and u forget the cramps and boils on your feet. But then you look at some a** h**** whom you have to push and shove, who really dont care for creativity or deadllines and you realise may be much of the chaos is required! As of now its too early for me to make a decision but i’m trying hard and am largely successful to get “In Sync” with the ‘real’ process of film-making….”Bhen**** koi spot hain ki nahin set pe”, “yeh shifting aaj hone waali hai ki nahin”, “Call the actors fast fast fast!!!”
