I dont know why but it seems like one of those south Indian flicks in which a hero hits an unnatural blow making 20 people roll in the air… I know it is based on south Indian movie but cant digest Aamir in this “forced” and “commercial” avtaar. Made me cringe watching him do a la Rajini.
I see a superhit… while bloggers hit their heads on their keyboards.
i guess Aamir is gonna pull it off. He could make a success of a crap movie like Fanaa, and i dont think Ghajini is going to be as bad as that.
The BGM, by rahman, does seem to have an Yuvraaj hangover.
Pretty good promo.! Nothing wrong in Aamir doing a commercial movie, and anyway ghajini’s script, is far better by today’s bollywood standards. Though not like Christopher Nolan’s memento, it still is a pretty entertaining film.
@neeraj : // ..it seems like one of those south Indian flicks in which a hero hits an unnatural blow making 20 people roll in the air… ..// That is not typical of south indian films dude. The same has happened in quite a lot of hindi, bengali, bhojpuri films as well. Even mithunda was a la’ rajini. so was amitabh doing it. then what’s the big deal? and anyway i dont see any such thing in this promo.
Sorry Srijith, thats was not the way I intended. I am a south Indian myself. I have seen that bit more in south Indian films, nothing against it. I am not judging wether a la Rajini is good/bad or of Mithun/Amitabh doing it would make it cooler. I just felt uncomfy looking at Aamir doing that bit after a TZP. But if y’all think this is just my fleeting feeling then I am glad. I so want this movie to work. Now I am waiting for the Music release.
Aamir’s name raises curiosity in the world of commercial Hindi cinema and he has been able to maintain his own set standard in his performances over the years. Some of his films might not have worked but he has never earned reputation of a bad performer in any of the films since the days of Holi, Raakh or QSQT. Mostly he has been bigger than his films. After Lagan and TZP expectations have been increased from him as now he is the producer and presenter also and thus seen as responsible for the quality of over all film.
This can make a difference.
Though his name is sufficient to pull crowd in first week of the release and film will surely be a hit.
But again now his name is seen with curiosity and expectations. Will his film have quality in all the departments also. This will remain a valid question in all his forthcoming films.
His position is very strong in commercial cinema and he is in a position to do 1-2 experimental low budget films in a year along with his regular fashion of doing 1 big film in a year.
Looking forward to the film. Trailer is good.
Obligatory new look scene – Check
Obligatory exotic locales with the heroine scene – Check
Obligatory more to it than meets the eye supers – Check
Obligatory the “other” look scene – Check
Obligatory action scene – Check
It is a teaser trailer. So all excused.
PS: I still thought it was a little South Indian (am talking the Vijay kinds). Especially the action scenes.
Unfortunately amir’s six/eight packs abs look is reminding of Govinda’s. If anyone has seen “sholaa aur shabnam” will understand what I am talking about…eeks…
I guess he’s trying too hard?I wonder if this new kind of “exposure” really helps the fate of a movie at the BO?
i hope the bloggers dont pounce upon him for doing what he himself calls a complete masala entertainer……..
look at his last 6 films…
TZP
RDB
Fanaa
The Rising
DCH
Lagaan
barring fanaa all others have been very different from what bollywood churns out…he has been extremely succesful as well…
I mean he deserves his share of masala 100 crore hits as well…
i hope people dont start comparing this to memento coz this one is not meant to be and cant be a memento…
More power to Aamir…..
i personally didnt like the trailer though i hope the film doesnt disappoint the audience…
@OZ bhai
pehle wala logo hi achcha tha :-(
Hey the trailer looks great & i’m really looking forward to the movie too. The background music sounds good too.
et tu aamir?
I see a Sooopppppppppaaaaaaar Hitttttttttt!!!
I think Aamir is gonna rock in this one.I totally agree that he has balanced quality cinema with commercial viabilitty, better than anyone else in recent times in bollywood landscape and everything he does, including preparing for his role and overlooking every department of the movies, shows how much he is involved and committed.
This commitments shows on screen, in everything he does – including a 30 sec commercial. kudos to aamir and waiting for the music release…..very badly now !!!
The trailer looks pathetic to say the least, can’t imagine Aamir doing this.
If at all Ghajini is flop/bad film is great thing.. Thats how Aamir doing these days..
DCH RDB TZP ???
Mangal Pandey Fanaa Ghajini(if at all)
// Above was typed in form of a graph… I sucked//
Hit hai hit. superhit. after a long time APPLAAZE comes back to theaters. btw, make it ‘eight pack’.
How did you go about preparing for your role?
I had to work a lot on building my body to suit my character. I had to work on getting my eight pack abs. It was quite tough because I was on training for almost two and a half hours every day. I did not mind because I have always believed in the adage that there is no gain if there is no pain.

I knw it is seems unlikely to see aamir in ths, bt its difrnt, he is the only actor who deserves the best due to attainding the [[HATKE]] char. And geting d success. If u thnk tht ths is imposible, then wht wil we cal DHOOM 2, OSO , other action flicks, . If still u dnt like then my request tht go and see the hollywood super hit [[BEAT 'EM UP]] . Try to see the actors in dif. Looks nt in 1 style like SRK or SAIF or ABHISEK
looking forward to the movie … it is easy to get carried away on the “serious / thinking film” syndrome after the kind of success that he has achieved in off beat themes … kudos to Aamir for managing the balance well.
amir khan looks very rough n tough
this movie going to be biggest hit
in every role amir fits very comfortable
amir makes a very good physique
this movie will be hit
