After the non event due to WGA strike in 2008, Golden Globes is back. Hopefully for them the Actors will not ruin the party this year.
The nominations in all categories for the 2009 Golden Globes have been announced. This is also a major year for us. AR Rahman is nominated for the Best Original Score. Although personally I thought the score for OYE LUCKY is much better. But its a “chota” local film. Anyways I hope Rahman wins, and I feel he will win.

where is milk in best picture and director?
Gus Van Sant is always snubbed by the awards inspite of being one of the finest filmmaker in US …
MILK is probably his most commercial work since Good Will Hunting. He has made much more deserving masterpieces.
Anne Hathway’s entry is a surprise but her performance in RGM has been app by most.
Would like to see Kristin Scott Thomas taking the award or may be even Kate Winslet for RR but def not Jolie…But, never know…
This seems to be one of Hollywood’s worst years as far as i can recall.
Arthi ur right AJ’s performance in Changeling was not too great, i think its simply a dearth of choices this year.
But one thing, i am hoping for is that, at least this year, Kate Winslet takes home the Oscar. Yaar come on, she has been giving such great performances but never ever winning. I honestly dont understand what was great about Reese Witherspoon’s performance in Walk the Line, it was the same thing she did in almost every movie of hers.
absolutely, Mainak. My personal favourite is Elephant, its in my all time greatest list. But I wish he get some recognition even for the wrong film, a la Marty!!
@Ratnakar
Kate is going to WIN this year. She has 2 films. READER & Revolutionary Road. And Reader is a Holocaust film. And Hollywood somehow gets around to remind the world about it every 5 years. Yes I agree with you about Kate. I have not seen any of her films up for nomination. But I know she will. I don’t want Kristin Scott to win. Jolie is not going to win. Do not worry people.
Yes RoodRow
Elephant is a film they should be selling for million dollars in auctions at museums, like paintings. And I know what you mean about recognising him. But Gus is not like Marty. He is not begging or making films just for awards. His ego did not swallow him, like in Marty’s case. A true artist.
Agree. Though I enjoyed departed, it wasnt a Marty signature. Have’nt seen Milk, though. Dont know if Gus is going the same way.
Ah how good it is too see ARR’s name there!:D
to see*…
Roodrow
Watch Departed again. Its a bad film.
MILK is a very important film in these times of Prop 8 in California. All these Homophobic Bigots need to open their mind a bit. Its probably a personal film for Gus.
Dont they have a segment for best cinematography at the Golden Globes?
No OM
They don’t have awards for Editing or Cinematography. I think they should.
thats too bad…der the dot have it
Not Bad
I got 9 out of my 11 prediction/wishes right for golden globes. A great night at Golden Globes.
