Heath Nolan and Christopher Eckhart are anarchists!
It is almost 3 am Saturday morning or is it still late friday night? I do not want to spend much time thinking over it.For the past one month..I have not missed a single clip or news piece belonging to Nolans’ ” The Dark Knight”.I just witnessed easily one of the best movies in recent times some minutes back.
As a kid I was never fascinated by super heroes or their movies.Never did I like them.Hated the burlesque characterisation.I can not remember a single movie which I did watch.But this movie,” The Dark Knight ” ..I could not miss it…for it was Nolan’s work.Man..that guy is a story teller..he does the job as good as any grand-ma can!
I could not work at my work station today.Catching up on every bit of reviews which was trickling in..I was wary of the spoilers too.Was wondering whether to watch it first day first show..and then my friend calls in.The plan was made.Done!Beautiful!!
And hell we did reach late for the movie by 5 minutes or so..in the process of rushing up the escalators..I was wondering that getting late for a movie isnt that bad an idea..it just makes the plot a tad bit killer.(palpitation et al)
The ushers are useless..at the end of it..we had to find our own seats..they flash the torchlight on seats which never existed for us.The first sequence had already started..wanted to stand still and watch the movie..did not want to move much.One thought which came into my mind..” How do these Nolan brothers get it right/write all the time? ” Let me twll you..this is not a movie review..this is the review of my reactions…the initial reactions..the faster the reactions are put down..the less adulterated it is.
HEATH LEDGER( I BOW BEFORE YOU) I am going to rant about this person.I mean how could this movie be the first time I saw Heath Ledger in action and..yes …sadly the last time ever!!This person has killed it..what a performance..and he is never going to perform.WHY DID HE HAVE TO GO??????????? He is the joker..the audience cheered for the joker more than any other character..such was Heath Ledger’s presence..He has the best lines..the anarchist plots..he makes sense every time he speaks albeit he is a psychopath..apparently he had himself isolated for a month to get into the skin of the character of the Joker.I think we have lost a very promising artiste..He could have been God on screen!So dark he was…
This movie is marked by ground breaking action sequences..and some exceptional screen lines.Watch it for Aaron Eckhart(Harvey Dent) too(check spell)..Christian Bale with his subdued performance.

Yeah, feels horrible to know we’d never get to see him do his thing again, and who knows, maybe even better it! The guy was, quite literally, only getting started…I mean, now that he’s not around, there’d be scores gabbing about what a great actor he was and all that, but seriously, take a good look at any of his other works, be it Brokeback, Knight’s Tale, Patriot, Casanova, Ned Kelly…it was always an upcoming goodlooking actor doing great work…tad difficult to place him as the pervert you just watched go on a rampage with abandon, ain’t it? That is greatness touched – the moment-in-history achieved…pity we’d never know if he’d go on recreating the magic, or was it one of those once-in-a-lifetime performances, a single spark of ‘inspired evil’ that’s impossible to match ever again? We’d never know, and this time, the joke’s on us!
I eloped from my office to watch the 9am show, again going for 10:20pm show and god knows how many more times i want to watch this movie. Incredible, mind blowing, ……….how many more adjectives it was the best movie i watched ever maybe

@gony..plannng to watch it at IMAX dome again cz its opened and hope they have The Dark Knight there

Yes..they are screening “Alps” as of now…there were rumours about The Dark Knight opening next week..lets keep our finger crossed.
hmm so the dome experience of the dark knight not possible this week….they are playing it on the normal screens though…..
the promotion of The dark knight has been very low key….
a good performance by ledger whether its oscar worthy is a question to ponder over
his laugh and lines at times actualyl send a spine down your back
but yet i found some weak points in the film
for exampl the bank robbing scene in the start
how the fuck would someone not notice a school bus coming out from the bank onto the main road :S
a very good movie overall but at the same time kinda over rated

Vivek..I believe that in a super hero movie you cannot get away with the regular cliches..but hats of Nolan..he has managed to create that balance between the imporatnt cliches and novel story telling.
Ashwin..I seriously do not know if we can have The Dark Knight at Imax Dome..i can just hope for that..it wouldbe magical.
i would love to see the truck topple over in the imax dome :D
