How silent is your theater?

We all have our own tales of horror, sorrow, anger and irritation brought to us by the respected people who during a movie are talking on the phone, having a board meeting right during the movie, resolving a family crisis or babies who have to go “WAAAHHH” right when the suspense is about to be revealed. But this man couldn’t take it anymore and got up and shot the talking-during-the-movie-guy with a gun during the screening of “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”… Question is how far would you go? And above all how do you cope with the noise stress during a movie?

now thats something i havent tried. hmmm…..
usually i ’shush’ people, and hope they stfu.
some people think by paying their share of the ticket they own the theatre and the movie for the next 3 hours.
cant deny there have been time when i’ve wanted to shoot someone during a movie (a kid started wailing during quantum of solace right when daniel craig was topless and the mother refused to even take the kid outside to calm him down) a bad glare usually works but sometimes coupla of stern words are sometimes necessary..i mean its basic etiquette to be quiet during a movie..cant people get that..
I went to see hindi Ghajini the other day in CT. There was this guy sitting next to me who probably came there by himself and there were these bunch of guys sitting behind him. Now these guys probably saw the original Tamil Ghajini and it looked like the whole purpose of them coming to see hindi Ghajini was to compare and analyze the two loudly. So they were yammering on and on during every scene. This guy told them once not to speak loudly. Later he just lost it and yelled at them to shut up. They started yelling back and asked him to sit somewhere else and things almost came to blows. Finally both of them shut up. I was shocked to see ppl behave that way. But those guys were really annoying and the worse part is that they were unapologetic about it.
Theaters in CT suck. Especially the ones in Fairfield & New Haven.
@Ravptor – but you gotta love the 5$ Tuesdays in Fairfield and Bridgeport man..
They suck dude. Tuesdays especially i would stay away. ;-)
Oh come on. I used to watch movies especially on Tuesdays. They stay easy on the pocket man, and you can even try out movies that you would otherwise ignore. Plus, I could practically walk to the Bullard square and Canfield avenue theaters!
I bettered it. I would go on Sunday evening to Stamford or Greenwich cinema and watch 3-4 films back to back. Hardly anyone would be there so no one used to care. And dude, it was 8 bucks!!!
I know your type, you bloody free-loaders!! Watching 2-3 movies in one ticket!! :P Just kidding..reminds me of my student life!!
But yes, since I have watched movies mostly in empty halls, and all of them are mostly empty these days, I don’t know how bad the problem is with silence in the halls. I remember watching ‘Traitor’ in a promotional screening in Boston and I was texting a friend about where I was sitting. The phone was on mute but a bum (or that’s how he looked) got really upset with it and left the seat. But that’s pretty much it.
Now that’s something that was waiting to happen.
guy shud get a friggin medal! my hero…..
