Ill pray for you brother..

A.r Rehman is my favourite music director from the Indian film industry before Himesh Resham wali aawaz..

I heard his Pray for me brother and i was confused.
Pray for me bro is dedicated to inspire ppl to eradicate poverty and to give hope from oppression, injustice and cruelity due to foreign forces or their own cruel leaders, those deprived of love,to fill a void, and to those tht are searching to be kind ..blah blah..

I am sorry but i am not convinced that this song can carry such a huge load..

Bhai log aur behno dekho when i hear a song which is for the poor and for the cold , i want it to inspire me enough to atleast borrow a car once with a good system , play the song , go and buy bread buns and blankets from Hauz Rani market and go crying to Sai baba mandir to give it to the poor to wash off my sins and atleast make me feel good for a few days.

After all it has to inspire the whole world out there.

The song is an interesting mix of melodies and lyrics that will touch almost everyones hearts but does it do anything for the starved soul?

I think it was a good idea for Rehman to lend his voice to it as it gives the song more in terms of support and morale because it is a known fact that he is a really genuine person.

But what is the basic purpose of a song with such a big message to deliver , is the question that comes to my mind when i hear it.

Is it to do justice to it by insuring there is a balance in terms of the melody , the flow , the singing , perfect packaging and making a product that is just another song? Or is it about making music that has soul and will touch and inspire people to be better humans?

The thought behind it is essentially positive and i salute it but i wonder did they really make an effort?

The lyrics are ok, the rapper blaaze is ok, i think the part where this girl starts singing and humming kind of builds the song a bit and is the nicer part but all in all this song is just very average for me.

Why doesnt this song make me feel anything?

Heal my soul…make it a better song..for you and for me and the entire Indian music industry race…

Heal my soul brother..

The video had the same effect on me M. I assume u r talking about the visuals than the song.

Bala (im guessing here) revisiting his vande mataram days i think. the song was ok. everything was a big OOK

and if u really arent gonna use rahmans close up shots dont even bother putting him in along with the visuals at all.

    Good start Maya…

I dont look for that effect in a song as you had described. If my emotions are kindled…the song has done its job….but to go to Sai Baba’s temple and donate blanket :o hehehe…good one!!!!

hey maya. good start. looking fwd to reading more - something on pancham da’s ruby roy, perhaps. that said, just curious… is every song that gets tuned by arr supposed to move/inspire us? evoke emotions in us? jaroori hai kya? being popular and being known as an expert - does it take away ones right to do some/any mediocre work? guru dutt made his *kagaz ke phool* and orson wells had his *compulsion* and not every number by king is a chartbuster - this too shall pass.

    hello ”the indian” ..
what made you say i dont feel the pain of another person just because i didnt think a song is good enough?
i truly appreciate the thought behind the making of the song but i dont think it made me feel what i would want a song for the world to make me feel.
i am human and the song does nothing to me..
    honest opinion.

hey kartik have you heard munbe va by a.r rehman?
i love south indian music..i think it is so rich and fine..
i like to listen to harris jayaraj and illayraja..even a.r rehman..

Maaaan maya - Munbe vaa … is a such a class melody song. So much of love and pain in that one. Naresh iyer and Shreya ghosal have done a fabolous job. That song is pure pure melody.

Even Newyork nagaram is a nice romantic nostalgic song.
The third one from the recent times is Innisai.

These three songs have been playing an infinite loop on my comp.

Harris is good but ive liked illayaraj only in bits and pieces.
