Its Not the years Honey, its the mileage

Dr. Jones is back… While many of the heroes and super heroes have not gone beyond a triology at the most, its his fourth outing in 27 years.. Though it took nineteen years in the re.re.return to yet another adventure journey and in the mean time Harrison Ford, the 46 year old “Junior” of The Last Crusade(1989) now grown up to 65 year old in so many years, the adventure ride continues with same fun and excitement with the entertainment never seems to end.

After all “Its all about the mileage, not the years”.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of Crystal Skull is releasing tomorrow world wide with great expectations from the Indy Die Hards all over..

The BO is excited too as per this report

Expert trackers agree that Harrison Ford’s Indy Jones might whip J. Depp’s Captain Jack’s Pirate butt. That’s right, the U. S. Memorial weekend champ is last year’s Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End which hauled in a record $139.8-million over the four-day Memorial Day weekend for a $153-million total including Thursday night previews. Three-day weekend record holder is still Spider-Man 3 at $151 million.

All indications suggest the Indy 4 picture could take in $160 to $170 million for its five-day Memorial weekend stretch and might even slip past Pirates four-day total, although the Spider-Man 3 record might be out of reach. Only lousy weather in and around major North American urban areas could spoil the Indy trip.

As it is, reviews after the Cannes premiere were 70% positive. And the likelihood of whole families attending that first weekend give the film a huge edge over the third Pirates film.

The good news for all Indy fans is that the first word on the film is encouraging from as a few initial reviews, it seems that the fourth installment has managed in meeting the expectations..

Film.Com gives it a thumbs up :

Nineteen years is a long time to keep a jones on for an Indy sequel, but Steven Spielberg’s long-awaited fourth film in the series doesn’t disappoint. It’s a rousing, exciting, even nostalgic adventure that makes for a great time at the movies.

Welcome Back Dr. jones

Another review reports

The filmmakers behind Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which opens Thursday, knew full well what fans would expect in the resurrection of the $1.19 billion adventure franchise 19 years after The Last Crusade. Producer George Lucas and director Steven Spielberg deliver the goods in a wise-cracking thrill ride that serves up action sequences like one plate after another of well-seasoned comfort food.

So what if we’ve already seen variations on the goofy-smart chase scenes and fight sequences choreographed for Indy’s new adventure? Blazing originality is beside the point. Lucas and Spielberg’s playful love letter to mid-century jungle movies stands up as a pretty good yarn. What’s more, in Crystal Skull, the ever-gruff Harrison Ford is back as Indy and he’s still kicking ass.

Harrison Ford is quite excited about his fourth outing (there is a bad news for Ford fans that the fifth installment is being planned with Shia LaBeouf, played sidekick to Ford in this one).

Ford’s first love interest (of Raiders of Lost Ark) KAREN ALLEN is back after a patch of semi retirement.

The 56-year-old actress says,

“I was completely surprised. There had been these rumours going on for many years about the fact that they maybe wanted to make another film. I think it had been a couple of years since I’d heard anything at all. And even though there were tiny rumours here and there that they might want to bring my character back, those rumours would also disappear.
“So this was really the phone ringing out of the blue and Steven Spielberg being on the phone saying not only did they have a great script they were all happy with, but they had also written a wonderful role for me… I had thought of myself as being semi-retired from film.

Ford (and all of us) will be missing charming Sean Connery in this outing but then he has a few reasons.

We don’t need Sean. I am old enough to play my own father (laugh)… I would have loved to have had him back but I think he prefers golf to acting now.

Check out the Trailers today. The adventure ride begins tomorrow…

I think the quote goes “It’s not the age; it’s the mileage”

    Siri,

This is Indy (not Dharam papaji in Johnny Gaddar).. Check out “Raiders of The Lost Ark” in one of the rare intimate moment in the second half, when Marion tries to help Indy and comes closer..

    Marion says to Indy
“You’re not the man, I knew ten years ago”

    Indy replies
“It’s not the years, honey, it’s the mileage”

    Marion comes back
    “You are…”

Watch out Raiders once again.. Simply the best in the lot for non stop entertainment.. I love the third one too for lovable goofy Sean Connery and his interaction with Indy…
The second featuring our own Amrish Puri saab was a disappointment though..

You’re right. I just looked up the quotes on IMDB and it’s like you put it. Although I think the Dharam paji quote rhymes better ;-D
I watched all three Indy Jones movies looooonnnngggg ago - early 90s I think, and Johnny Gaddaar just last year, so the memory card error…
