Meryl stole the show, although I like Amy and Stanley. Meryl was just over the top. Made me wish I had watched Julia Childs on TV!!

Meryl Streep is just fantastic every day her acting is at a higher level with this movie there’s just no way to measure her reach as an actress, this movie is very touching specially for those like me who adored Julia Child. It becomes an emotional trip to see a part of Julia Child not seen before.

My husband and I had lunch at Julia Child’s house in Cambridge, Mass., in the late 1990s, so each time Meryl Streep made those wild and wonderful gestures, it was like a flashback to the real thing. Stanley Tucci is always a joy to watch and most lovable as Julia’s supportive husband Paul. The glowing cinematography of old Paris made me want to live there forever, too.

An absolutely delightful performance by Meryl Streep. She truly has taken the art of acting to a whole new level, with performances like these. The physicality of being Julia Child matched by her ability to convey those myriad of emotions literally brings to life this character. Supported by wonderful performances by Stanley Tuchi and Amy Adams, this is indeed a MS film. You are left wanting more of her on the screen. Worth the watch just to see her do what she does best, act.

Also check out this rather interesting conversation between Charlie Rose, Nora Ephron (the director) and MS.

God made woman, then he thought ‘I can do much better’, and made Meryl Streep… I am love with this elderly female :yahoo: … Today I bought a Rs 200 redeeming voucher for this affair at PVR..

Watching the best female actor in the world, with near full house, with Carol, Kurbaan , Dimlight and 2012 playing nearby, was a fulfilling experience in all aspects.. she made Julia Child on of the most endearing parts ever… who else but this versatile actor can play Doubt or Prarie Home Companion or BMCounty and Julia making each performance look amazingly unique .. She stands tall..

Now Amy kutty, is good, no doubt… but being unfair, read Moi, I have to say, her performance was rather Meg Ryanesque… but being fair to her, probably she modelled her role on the real life Julie, who might have those mannerisms and behaviour pattern…

Supporting cast was brilliant.. but the real winner in editing and writing.. It contains some went written dialogues easing out situations out of possible melodrama.. cool stuff…

My recco for anyone who visits PVR or Innovative this week.. because good films dont run more than week in bangalore and most parts of India…
