Jumma Bazaar

Had been to a place called Mohamed Ali road in Mumbai which you encounter en route to VT. We all know it’s the place to be for the firni and aflatoon. Happened to be there on a Friday and my friend took to a ritual there every Friday. The Jumma Bazar. I never trusted him when he told me there were Bose speakers and Sony 29 inch TV and Laptops and Rolex for sale on the footpath.

I had my Digicam with me which affords me to take around 6-7 minutes of video. Tried to put them together.

This is especially for those who have been away from India for long and for those new to Mumbai who have never been to these places. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FVAXGmtSiAs

Fantastic stuff. Brought back memories. You captured the chaos, the amity, the magic of the place so well through faces. I hope that you have, or find more stories to tell, and continue to tell them simply because of the hunger to tell these stories - just like this one and the video you made before this.

Vasan Anna: Rumba Nalle Irke :) Is my tamil proper? Loved it. Were the people aware that you were shooting? Is this the same place where Abhishek & Uday Chopra go to get a bike in Dhoom?

Vasan… Good work man…but dude..it did look a tad long and the mixing of music…hmm…the music bit was a bit long too..overlap of a couple of other bgm’s would have been ideal. But, i love the way you create things out of nothings…Keep it up

  12. Vasanbala on February 27th, 2007 6:37 pm

OM - Bang on….yes it is damn long[ideal 1.5 to 2 mins....it's double]….yeh actually the beats after the first 10 seconds then go into this loop…..kuch karoonga…..

vasan.. liked it man, though could’ve been shorter. and though i liked the music, would’ve been cooler if you gave us the true sounds of the street.. maybe half music, half “raw” street sounds..?

don’t let even a single moment of boredom to entrap u.open yourself to all the ways, always and work hard.u really have enormous skills.
the best thing about your work is (what i assume!)that u dont harbour any undrlying resentment towards any system(u r kind) .it reflects on in,your clips.keep it up.
may be people out there adore the “dog’s doggie world” but what i feel is ,that love and kindness are the potent weapons to carry forward your messages,

thanks ansh……..all this keeps me going…..

Striker haan yaar…..that would have been really cool….to get the real feel in between….just that my DIGIcam [nikon coolpix 4.2] which is essentially a still camera does not capture sound well….. but yes the film needs a major trim…..dhekta hun

Gattu - Ungal Tamil Nandraha irukiradu…..Besh Besh…..Yeh I think the people were aware….and i think for Dhoom they erected a set at Mukesh mills…they did not shoot it on location….I FEEL.

for a still cam at 4.2Mp i must say the clarity of the video is commendable!
