Aishwarya Rai, Chitrangda Singh and Kajol , three actresses of contemporary hindi cinema enjoy one common thing that their married status has not affected their popularity among audience or their fans.

Now Kajol is going to share screen space again with her husband, where Ajay Devgan is going to make his debut as a director also.

Time will tell what U, Me aur Hum brings before the audience and how it entertains them but marketing of film has seen already one good thing. A poem has been released inside a promotional release of the film. Has Film made Kajol a poet? If yes then its always good to see creative side of a person.

As per the news , Kajol writes following poem.

“Oh, how we danced on the night we were wed
We vowed our true love though a word wasn’t said
The world was in bloom, there were stars in the skies
Except for the few that were there in your eyes.
The night seemed to fade into blossoming dawn
The sun shone anew but the dance lingered on
Could we but relive that sweet moment sublime
We’d find that our love is unaltered by time.”

According to the report, film is said to be revolving around the concept shown in above mentioned poem.

Before also many actors and film makers have shown their writing skills.

Poetess form of Meena Kumari is a well known fact. She not only published her poems under a pseudo name but Khayyaam Saab released an album I write I recite where Meena Kumari herself had recited her poems.

Dev saab has already published his autobiography (Romancing with life) which he prepared in his own hand writing only.

Amitabh Bachchan had written a poem from his sick bed. Poem has been mentioned
in a previous
post
on PFC.
He might have written many other poems but he has not published them.

Great painter MF Hussain also wrote not only his autobiography ” Pandharpur ka ladka ” but he has written poems also.

One such poem can be read in this old article of PFC.

Deepti Naval has also established her as a poet also. She has written a very good poem for her TV serial Thoda Sa Asman. Some of her poems can be read in following links

Link 1
and Link 2

Sushmita Sen also has published book having her poems and some of her poems can also be read at her website

Tara Deshpande also had published her creative writings and 1-2 Novels.

Its good to see so many authors and poets among film stars and film makers. We may keep hope to see more such creative works from many film stars.

On basis of the few interviews I have seen and read of Kajol, the Koffee with Karan episodes with her and on basis of one brief 3-minute chance meeting I had with her in 2002… I doubt she even wrote that poem (inspite of it being a silly, candyfloss, teenage rhyming endeavour). I doubt she can even write that though.

If the film is indeed based on this poem then it is going to be a huge yawn. The poem is anyways just an amateurish attempt at rhyming. The last two lines are completely out of tune with reference to the rest.
The crux of it is the conveyance of an unsaid feeling which the writer wants to capture for eternity—”pyaar karna” and “pyaar nibhana”…

    ————————————————
[ " Paap mere waste hai naam lekar aaj bhi tum ko bulana
hai wahi chhati ki jo apnee tahon mein raaj koi chipaye
jo ki apnee tees aap jhele, mat kisi ko bhi sunaye

AB has earned maximum possible level of fame name etc in the field of acting. He does not need to do something for earning name.
But this earned fame may put additional pressure on him also.
Either he sheds all inhibitions and does not care for what others will say and publish his works. which perhaps he will do ultimately.
Whenever he publishes his poems, literary circle has to become active to compare his poems with his fathers poems.
and about his father one thing can be said ” What a poet”.
But like AB does not care about his films and does whatever he likes, same he has to do in writings also.
All these years he has been busy in films, facing ups and downs of acting career. and his father was active in writing till some 12-14 years ago.
Its not easy for the son of Dr HariVansh Rai Bachchan to publish poems. It was easy for AB to enter in to this field when he was young and not so successful in films.
His first poem available for all to read is a good one.
He has to come out in open one day. People have to say anything. Creativity of anybody should come out.
Criminal minds have those people who are sitting on the film directed by Dilip Kumar and audiences are kept away by these sick minds to watch his directorial efforts.
    :(
Hope one day AB publishes his poems so that others can read. Daughter of his brother Ajitabh Bachchan is following footsteps of her grandfather. She is young and perhaps on the way of publishing her creative works.

Its Ajay Devgan’s first attempt, audience have to see in that context.

Chavani ji, even if its a marketing gimmick then its a sweet marketing strategy, a very positive way of promoting one’s film.
When everybody has become naked in marketing area to promote their films by hook and crook then this way of promotion is really impressive. atleast its creative way.
If Ajay and Kajol have opted this way to market their film, then I appreciate their efforts.
atleast its not promoted on the basis of Item song which has nothing to with film.
When Sanjay Gupta ji can promote his film first by releasing Gulzar Saabs poems and they are not part of films and its accepted then this effort should also be accepted. Its a fair marketing policy.
atleast film is not promoted on the basis of body exposure. Itna hee kya kam hai aaj ke daur mein?

RK: Kajol did not write the poem after all. Infact, it is an old song written by a romanian poet called Ivanovici and made popular in 1946 by Al Jolson and Saul Chaplin.

    See link:

    http://www.actionext.com/names_g/guy_lombardo_lyrics/edit_anniversary_song.html

It has also been published at a zillion different websites as Pavan has mentioned above.

And even Indiafm.com wrongly (but expectedly) credited the poem/lyrics to “The Anniversary Waltz,” composed by Dublin/Frankl. See link:

    http://www.indiafm.com/movies/preview/13577/index.html

Phew! I was right when I said I doubt Kajol even wrote that. Trust me, you would have doubted it too if only you had ever met the lady.

Where/which website did you get this information anyway? I guess it’s just a marketing/publicity gimmick by the U, me, whatever team!

Brother very good and timely investigative search.:)
Word “Two Stars” in original poem/song has been replaced by “Few Stars” in Kajol’s press release.
That could be creative editing input;)
your search of original song exposed two good things.
    (1) Either marketing team of “U me and Hum” did not bother to give original source of the song or newspaper simply published it as Kajol’s own song without even bothering to ask if it was original or not.
    (2) As you write Song is a quite famous song of 70s, then all the critics of song present in comment section of this post, who were criticising it because they thought it was penned by Kajol and few of them thought she could not write it, and few thought if she had written it so it was bound to be a very ordinary poem/song, also come under scanner.
Present situation (revealed by you) provides two edges sword. Its cutting ignorance, or knowingly done mistake of marketing team of the film and on other hand its also cutting negative thinking of critics also. ;)
    a nice revelation.

Unlike us, who have to do 8-6 regular job to earn bread and butter and books etc to read, stars have all the facilities before them because of bigger earning and they have full capacity and time to go through best books, best education at any time of their life and in such facilities one can start creating writing at any age and stage.
People can be there who met Ashutosh Gowarikar after he made Pehla Nasha and Bazi and who declared that this man never could make a good film. But he later made Lagan and Swades.
