Kee Farak Painda?!
“What would you have done, then?!” - I get that asked often and my reply is, “Erm, what, me? You’re kidding!” I give orders and I don’t do any menial jobs. I come from a royal family, you see, so everything was/is given me on my plate. Not really. But what would have I done to make a film better? First of all, I would have never made a trash film. We are speaking of a hypothetical situation, in which I am some sort of a Film consultant. So, I don’t think anybody would tell me that, “you don’t have in you to make a film”.
What would happen if we imply Gandhji’s teen chatur Bandar in our life with respect to Films? We certainly would minimize klesh in our life. I guarantee you on that.
Don’t See Any Films That You Consider it to Be Crap.
If you watch a crap film, then it will make you angry because your time got wasted and more importantly you have thrown your well earned money in the gutter. An angry person would do any crazy stuff. Scientist have proved that. An angry person will have klesh in his/her life. Spiritualist have proved that. So my advice is do not watch any films that you consider it to be crap. Also you could end up learning how to make a crap film rather than how not make a crap film cos your mind absorbs everything. You have to be smart to make a distinction between that.
Don’t Write/Talk Anything About Crap Films You Have Watched.
After watching a crap film, one of your angry reaction would be to trash the movie. It would give you a good relief. But there are many repercussion. What reason did Gandhi give for chatur Bandar which speaks no evil? Well, you will become a devil. So then, people will trash you and of course, you will have a few bhakts but they won’t outweigh the number of people who will trash you. And again, it would increase the klesh in your life. Then, what if someone asked you, what would you have done to make the film better? And you did not know the answer & end up being a baboon. Even if you knew the answer then you would be wasting your effort improving a crap film and not a quality film. What is better improving a crap film or a quality film? Some you may think that is a snob attitude but its really not. It depends on individuals standards - how low will you go? Any sort of impurities in our body/soul would affect klesh-0-meter negtively. So don’t trash a movie no matter how funny it can be.
Don’t Read/Hear Anything About Crap Films.
This is simple. Just don’t read any shite, which will provoke to write/speak same language. Ignore it. If you read it, just don’t get provoked to response to the article. If you did response to the article in an angst, then you will get moderated or banned, which will hurt your ego further and will affect the klesh-o-meter negatively and whenever that person’s name popped up - you would only have swear words for that person - which could increase your blood pressure.
For people who are not a fan of Gandhi’s Three Wise Monkey, I will tell you about Ayurvedic Films. Briefly. There are three type of Ayurvedic Films: Sattavic Films, Rajasic Films, Tamasic. We live in Kalyug, so majority of films are Tamasic and Rajasic. You should avoid it as much as you can.
What is Tamasic Film?
A waasi film, that is, a copied film. Xerox copy of another movie.
Films which have been manufactured/process, such as Yash Raj Films.
I’ve just received an emergency call regarding a Film institute where students have gone mental after watching Tamasic Films and then have to visit a film critic - after reviewing so many Tmasic films.. sala saathiya gaya hain, so have to go their to sort them out and hence unable to go into detailed explanation of Tamasic Films.
In real life this don’t happen. Kee Farak Painda?!

I have been asking a lot of people the same things.
Why watch a trash movie when you know 15 mins what is instore for you?
Why then write about it in the most caustic/sarcastic manner that only delays and distracts you from doing something worthwhile?
There are many movies which are good. If we dont speak about them, spread the word of mouth, we will soon see that our blogs and media spaces will be filled only with two types of discussions and reviews.
1. negative disgruntled rants against trash
2. Paid up reviewers and advertisers of trash all around
The space for discussions for good films will disappear/shrink and that is not we aspire here in PFC, do we?
“A waasi film, that is, a copied film. Xerox copy of another movie.
Films which have been manufactured/process, such as Yash Raj Films.”
YashRaj films are copied films? And what about the films manufactured in RGV’s factory - you know the ones will all the shots up the short shorts of the female actors?
Why watch a trash movie when you know 15 mins what is instore for you?
some people find that entertaining and relaxing….somethign even freud wouldnt be able to psycoanalyze
Why then write about it in the most caustic/sarcastic manner that only delays and distracts you from doing something worthwhile?
some people think being caustic is cool and intellectual and some people have lot of free time
some people might also want to genuinely warn others about how bad a certain film was and at the same time try hard to make you laugh by their colourless sarcasm
but then again i comepletely agree with you jaiganesh….but there are good disccusions going on at PFC as well :)
Prashant (let me just spell it my way ;)
You hit the nail bang on the head. I have been following this “avoid klesh” theory for a while now, and believe me, BP neeche utar aaya hai.
By the way, this is precisely the reason more than half of the writers / articles on this site are avoidable. But I quite like what you write here…you aren’t just a good actor, but a good writer as well.
Sudip
p.s. Loved the use of the word “Klesh”, happens to be one of my mom’s favorite word :)
Oops…seems like Honhaar Goonda and Badmaash Banna are two different individuals…
Sorry HG, I mistook you for Prashant.
The rest of what I have said still applies though…
