Iview entry 1 : : Ha ha ha Ho ho ho… - How much Comedy!!!
We all love comedy, we wait for it in a movie to laugh on, we wait for such characters to come on screen when we see them on posters or pre-release publicity.
But how much comedy is worth, or better what kind of comedy is worth?
4 guys behind some hidden treasure…
3 guys behind 1 girl
4 jobless guys’ bla bla bla
3 guys …one dumb… one smart… one has a side-love-story… bla bla…
Confusions, cross connections, melodrama…. ok so we got many movies with different stories, different characters, different drama… but isn’t that enough. It has become a rat race, every other director trying to cash in here.
And then talk about quality of the comedy, is it a comedy at all, can we watch them with our kids? Ok even if they are for adults, are they worth watching… vulgar body actions, cheap and vulgar dialogs, double meaning words… all these have become part of all comedy movies now a days.
Just two words - NOT GOOD. All those producers/directors…please watch “Padosan“, “Chupke-chupke“, “Golmaal“, “Angoor“, “Nauker” or even “Chameli ki Shaadi” and re-think on getting out a real comedy movie where we show our social value as well.
I don’t want to discourage anyone here, comedy is one of the tough aspect of acting, and making someone laugh also, so hats off to daring producer/director/actors - but please maintain a border line.
Recently saw DHAMAAL, quite a copy of multiple English movies…and Arsad Warsi got wasted…next one is DHOL, I don’t want to see… will be kind of same content.
GIVE ME A GOOD COMEDY MOVIE PLEASE… that I can tell my kid to watch after 15 years from now

I just became a member of PFC. I love watching movies and my aim is to become an actress one day and become rich and famous. Well if I want to do that in Bollywood I have to wait till I am 21 and I dont think I can wait that long.
Bollywood does not make any teen movies like Hollywood does, Hollywood has given a chance to so many young people to try their talent and to become shining stars. How come bollywood doesn’t have movies like High School Musical, New York Minute etc maybe because they are too busy making movies like RED and KALYUG??
HAHA bollywood has never given a chance to teen people to show case their talent. How come bollywood never has after parties? How come we dont have stars like Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, the Olsen twins etc. Why cant some film maker just pay attention to this stuff.
Like Mr Karan johar is always busy with his best buddies SRK and bla bla bla. How come these people not try new stuffs than just making the same old stupid movies again and again. Poor Indian public what else can it do then just to make those stupid movies a flop?
So if any Bollywood director reading this please dont think that I am critisizing you people but I really want the directors to pay a little attention to talented teenagers like moi! So bollywood I really hope that we do have a new teen movie in some time and i really hope the dear audience doesn’t turn it down!

@Pankajno.1,
Comedy films have been quite favourite among hindi cine makers because business wise also they work in all seasons. This is true that few comedies rest with us for long time. Govinda remains as one of the best actor of present generation of actors as far as comidey is concerned but we dont recall any of his film. Though we recall him with high praise.
Actors are available all the time only directors have to be available who could make good comedy films which remain there in the mind of audience for long time.
But Comedy films have been there. Loud comedy based, Hera Pheri etc and Socha Na Tha, Ahista Ahista and Khosla ka Ghosla had many scenes filled with light comedy. Inspite of being inspired version and few shortcomings Bheja Fry was a good comedy.
But yes all the present days films have comedy scenes only and whole films are not based on comedy like Half Ticket, Padosan, Chupke Chupke etc were. They were class comedies. Even Chalti ka nam gadi, inspite of having other shades also, was a very good comedy film.

If we observe all the actors why we repeat again and again that comedy is the toughest?
It seems that many actors who are unable to act good in other roles, often do good in comedy films. Agree, to do very good comedy is diffeent thing but average comedy seems to be easy for any actor especially when they get good dialogues to support their performances.
@Archita,
you are right there has been a lacking in Hindi cinema as they dont make teen based films.
In reality except Raj Kapoor’s Big film Mera Naam Joker’s first part, nobody has done a justified job in dealing with subjects dealing with teens.
Cant recall but there was one more film starring Firoz Khan where he played School teacher and that film dealt with sex education among teens. Film had good relevant subject.
And then hindi cinema seldom deals with children based films and very seldom we get Safed Hathi, The Blue Umbrella, Nanhe Jaisalmer etc.
Teen based films are necessity and they should be made so that hindi cinema gets young talent which goes in other directions because their natural talent of acting is not used at proper age.
In the Hindi film industry, they don’t let people enjoy their age, they actually fast forward them so fast and they lose their valuable childhood. See the case of Hansika Motwani, at the age of 15, she is acting opposite bald reshammiyas and happy 40’s Govindas!
As for the subjects, well, these girls rather want to be heroines opp superstars than be a teenage stars where the number of movies made is very minuscule.
@Machchar,
not only hindi cinema, southern film industry is not behind in this trait. Baby Khushbu of Hindi cinema soon took shelter there as actress Khushbu:)
@ Archita- Hey you missed out MP3 (Mera Pehla Pehla Pyar), did you? That’s a real cute teen movie which came out this year!
Check it out!
well archita one movie ur missing is dil dosti etc other one is rockfordthen there was one jo jeeta wahi sikandar or kabhi haan kabhi naa.
P.S. i think ur trying to get attention of some directors so they can cast u in their movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:d. do u really expect KARAN JOHAR to make any good film
Can we see your photographs Archita?
@gunjan,
why you think Dil Dosti etc is teen based film?
Or Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa? characters dont behave like teens. Either they have crossed that age or directors wished them to show as young and not as teen.
Konkana Sen’s character in Rituparno Ghose’s Titli can be said as a teen ager character and her part was perfectly fit for a teen age film. Before Guddi was at the threshold of teen age and getting maturity.
Hum Dum was covering teen agers but treatment does not cover real problems and traits of teen agers. Was a fantasy film.
Though this is another thing thing that even Betab was said to be teen ager love story:)
if u consider the jo jeeta wohi sikandar as a teen movie..
then it has to be the best……
a perfect school film…
I think the recent release MP3 Mera Pehla Pehla Pyar was a teen romance flick
Hip Hip Hurrey.. Simply one of the finest films in the genre of “Teen Flicks”
Talking of HHH, Apart from the sports factor it had almost every other thing too.. The student clashes..indiscipline, spoiled brats, infatuation with teacher, bunking from class to play teen patti and also the friendship factor.. a must watch… 100 notches above DDE..
another reasonably good one was Holi.. one could surely relive the last segment of the teens in that film..
@RK,
Thanks for the comment. Being passionate about movies, my complaint or rather say request goes first to the producer/director as not to see COMEDY as cash-cow but another milestone to their banner. I am sure if they target audience + a good movie and not income - we will get another “Padosan”.
And then same request goes to actors also - to choose a script/role that adds value to their own list of good movies done.
A good actor can turn any role/scene to be remembered for long e.g. Aamir Khan..good at comedy, action and romance. Govinda too (we(audience)…pushed him to comedy).
…Pankaj No.1
@Pavan,
ya HHH and Holi were two beautiful teen characters based films.
We can include Sachin and Sarika starrer “Zid” also in this list of good teen based films.
