Can’t wait to watch this one. I hope, it’s a decent movie. The promos are very interesting. Promising of a emotionally charged tale of realtionships. Love trianagle is something not seen in the long time. Music sounds good and Salman is creating the attraction for the movie.
Barring the last few minutes, it’s a good watch. Rather, a must-watch for all Salman fans. Salman is absolutely adorable in the film. He handles the comic as well as serious stuff with great ease. The music is super. It is not and not supposed to be, rock music. It is pop and it is rocking. The way the concerts are shot, is mind blowing. If they had shown Arjun’s struggle and his rise to stardom in little detail and in more realistic manner, it would have added to the film’s impact.
Vipul Shah did not disappoint. As expected he made a horrible movie. What else can you expect from a guy who directed Waqt, namaste london and produced SIK
Pretty average affair, would have been disastrous if not had the charm of Salman, he makes it watchable. i wish salman has as good cinematic sensibilities as his overshadowing screen presence. how many more london dreams and wanted he would pull off before he fades into oblivion.
Shukla is par excellence especially the playing with the screen time and increasing it and making it gripping.
Overall, London Dreams is the first movie in many months that lures one to go and watch it again and again in cinema halls for its sheer magnum opus quality maintained by the filmmaker, Vipul A. Shah.
Do not get surprised if London Dreams sweeps away all awards in all awards functions.
Ratings 4/5 stars.
Oh no no. London Dreams won’t get any awards. Didn’t you see how it has been trashed and sidelined by the media? It is the taste of things to come. I wish to award everybody from Cinematographer to Salman Khan.
First things first. London Dreams is no Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, neither its sequel nor it is Rock On. London Dreams is loosely inpired by Amadeus – the movie on Europe’s great musicians and composers of all time Mozart and Beethoven and Rajkumar Santoshi were to film on Shahrukh Khan and Aamir Khan once a decade back.
London Dreams is the story of two childhood friends from Punjab, India. It is the story about one friend who dreams to be a pop star like Micheal Jackon by making it to Wembley Stadium, London and other friend who considers his friend to be God and supports his dream in every sense. London Dreams is about jealousy between gifted talent and hard earned talent for music and love. It is just coincidently has the love factor in common that of Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam but no in the pivotal role of the subject. Music is the subject and so goes on the story.
London Dreams is a story of one destined and god-gifted talent, Manjit Khosla a.ka. Manu (Salman Khan) and hard working musician with passion for music and dream to make it big especially at Wembley and the Lead Singer of London Dreams Band. Arjun (Ajay Devgan) and their friendship and struggle and the lost pride of the family and victory to make it to the most respected arena of Music or we can say Mecca of Music audience, the Wembley at London.
London Dreams is the first Indian movie or movie by any Indian Filmmaker where in London is depicted so lively and so beautiful and so picturesque, so is piqturised Eiffel Tower of Paris in background when Salman proposes Asin.
Thank God, London Dreams does not have the Yash Chopra Lobby style of Punjab. It would be outright incorrect to mention here any thing about the role depiction of Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan intentionally, because London Dreams is truly the first Blockbuster hit of 2009. About Asin, she reminds of typical south indian herione casted in a Hindi movie of 60s and 80s – a typical show piece and nothing do much about one thumka idhar and other thumka udhar and in the end go with the hero for an happy ending. But only new thing is Asin looks cute despite of her small
role. But the plus point this is for the first time any south Indian heroine looking so cute in an Hindi movie.
Music of the film barring a couple of songs is not hummable but easily gels with the theme in the movie. Screenplay is gripping and does not allow one to move out even during the songs. Cinematography by Sejal Shah is A class. Editing by Amitabh Shukla is par excellence especially the playing with the screen time and increasing it and making it gripping.
Overall, London Dreams is the first movie in many months that lures one to go and watch it again and again in cinema halls for its sheer magnum opus quality maintained by the filmmaker, Vipul A. Shah.

Bhai Harsh, Amadeus was not about Mozart and Beethoven, it was about Mozart and Salieni. I am surprised that you didn’t take care to even Google Amadeus before putting up this comment that you were HIRED to write.
Where was the mention or comparison with HDDCS in the entire article, pray tell us?
Off late I get this feeling that producers just hire these publicists firms to post positive reviews on various websites. Starting Life Partner or was it Do Knot Disturb, there has been floods of posters writing comments in one single template.
PFC ke Editors – please take care of this issue, yaar!!
Brilliant……………..
best movie of this season can go agin and again…does have it’s share of flaws but who cares till the time it’s engrossing!!!:)
@Harsh,Shasank,govind
Please rate it
Good movie…about Friendship,Lovw,Sacrifice,Success….& Ambition,Jealousy…..
A very good movie. AMong the best to come out this year. Only thing the climax could have been a bit more impactful
The movie has only one positive – Salman Khan.other ways its nothing great to talk about.Ajay Devgan’s “grey” act becomes boring after a while. Some of the songs look soul-less on screen,Asin hardly has anything to do.Heck there’s nothing great about London’s projection in this movie as some people are claiming. The movie is hardly “blockbuster” material.
I have a general comment. Please give some 15-20 regular users of PFC the command to rate the movie (but comments can be given by anybody) so that only good movies get the right rating or else some lobby group will change it in their favor.
If Salman does not get an award for this…they should stop giving awards…!!! Easily the best movie of the year…I am saying even when LBC, Kaminey, DEv D were released this year
Time pass movie, the ending was terrible. Could have been better.
Acchi hai. liked it though the climax needed bit of reconsideration can be watched one time
Regards
One reason I will remember this movie is Salman Khan.
The Das-Ka-Dam wallah effortless charm that comes so very naturally to sallu .. is so very apt for the character he plays, and the best thing is that he has not tried to hold any of that back.
If there’s one thing that is perfectly perfect about the movie .. it’s the ‘Casting’
Dont miss the beginning or you’ll miss the best part of the show – first look of 3 Idiots!
“London Dreams” was a paid internship as a director for Vipul Shah. Very amateurish and unskilled direction really ruined , what could be called one of the best movie set up of recent times. He was provided with BIG production, GREAT story, BRILLIANT actors, GOOD music. And he gave a trashy film like this.
I envy Vipul Shah for this. Which other director would get such a paid internship?
Only for Salman Khan, My husband is a huge fan of salman khan so cannot miss this one, But truly, the best was to compare how he had cried in Hum dil de chuke sanam and in this one…
Also, liked Aditya Roy Kapoor, he was also acting pretty effortlessly….
pretty good movie…salman, ajay and music r pretty good…direction is a letdown…so is the script, esp in first half…implausible plot points and some shoddy direction make sure this movie doesnt rank amongst the top 5 this yr…
mind blowing moovie
Watch it only if you are desperate. Had a lot of potential, but which remained largely unrealised. Poorly executed!!!
no clue why this movie was supposed to be a superhit… no clue why people are going gaga over salman khan… no clue why people keep saying ajay devgan is a great actor… the movie was okay at the most… AD is supposed to be a rockstar for for some goddanm reason he doesnt even look comfortable in what he’s wearing… Salman agreed was acting so much better than what he has been doing all this while… agreed had a cute kid character, but was it worth all the talk thats going on … Vipul Shah had some scene build ups perfect but all honesty I was more interested in ‘what next’ in Shakalaka Boom Boom, which I saw after reading KM’s review about Lon Dreams…
…………………..
Rannvijay as AD’s friend and his brother were again sore things sticking out… when we are so sure AD and Salman are like 40 yr olds.. then why not take people from almost the same age group to play the other band artistes as well, (of course there are bands with 40 year olds) or even if the band has a mix of age groups, somehow the bonding between AD and RV didnt sink in too well…
…………………………….
anyhow… the movie has of course been appriciated by a lot others so go by what you feel.. my review… 1 star…
End could have been better
very very good movie.salman fantastic, the best.i will see again and again…
great ,brilliant
