Mahesh Bhatt- abundant energy
PROJEKT iVIEW | Movies | May 25, 2007 at 8:32 am
26 days gone, another 15 to go…
so close yet seems so far. It all started 9 months back when i joined on this project as a 4th AD. i must have done alrite in pre since by the time the shoot started i was promoted to being the 2nd AD. this was my first feature film and to assist Pooja Bhatt(a brand in herself) and to be around Bhatt Saab was certainly an better than alrite proposition. I was excited.
Shooting has been fine so far. but i’m not a physical person, hence i’m dead by the end of shooting day.
I dont have a great leader, we dont get along that well but at the end of the day work gets done and i dont think my boss is of the kind who would keep any of us around just because she finds our faces pleasant- so v deliver.
Over the last week i had reached a level of saturation. body was tired, mind was fucked. and the most instinctive of human thoughts came to my mind- “QUIT”-SHOULD I? SHOULD’NT I? …WHAT THE HELL AM I THINKING… if nothing else 15 days more but they seemed too many, untill today morning!
I had a good day and on certain occasions i got to see and experience the energy of an old man who has been around far too long and like he has i’m sure influenced many, his energy rubbed off on me too- the man’s Mahesh Bhatt and i’m wanting to fight my feelings and give my hundread percent if not for anything else-then for the energy of that man!
Cheers to that!

KLPD!
give some more bhatt gyan/ anecdotes please
Amey
Hang in there brother! But give your everything right now. 1st impression is the best impression. And you are working in a important group. If you don’t make a mark in this film it will take you years to rise. So give your life to it. Give more than 100%.
But don’t do more than a couple of films. Its a trap. Unless you become 1st AD with decent pay.
Make friends with everyone, especially the Camera team & the sound guy. Have lunch with the camera team. And stay away from the AD politics.
And ofcourse The Golden Rule – Never sit on a set.
*****
LAST FIlm Watched – WONDERLAND (7/10) Starring Val Kilmer as the legendary porn star John Holmes. Cool movie.
Loopsong – Get Innocuous! – LCD SOUNDSYSTEM.
Reading – CALIBRE – KEN BRUEN
to KLPD-
sure i’ll write more, there’s plenty you can learn from a man with that much experience and passion.
to Mainak-
thanks man, your advise is what my brain tells me, the heart at times suggests otherwise when some crap gets a tad too much. As of now, i’m hanging in there, and oh yes- “THE GOLDEN RULE” thats engraved in the mind!
