(2/5) Ponderous, plodding, pretentious drama that’s almost as stiff as its characters.

    Hmmmm..But I still wanted to sit through till the end to know what happens to JRM’s character…
    Emily Mortimer, was totally under-used..
    But somehow the film worked for me as a one time watch atleast.
    The cops know what the truth is but still are they able to do nethg about it?

    True, it was a decent one time watch- not a ‘bad’ film as such. And yeah, even I wanted to see what happens in the end. But overall it was a rather underwhelming film whose characters I didn’t really care for.

    I liked the movie very much… lot of people would sweep their dirt under the rug if allowed to. Tennis analogy is very well represented in the film, though players (here Meyers) wins despite ring falling his side of the net.

    @arthi…..

    Ya even i found the logic of cops baffling. But when i saw it for the first time, i was only staring at Scarllet…..

    I dont think any Indian Actress can match her for “Sensousness”

    Agree Gajendra…thats what the film is…
    The cops had no way out. You know the truth, but the proof (based on sheer luck) is against them. Hence so…
    Ya Scarlett Johansson, have kept track of her films since Manny and Lo.. Do watch that film. Its very good..SJ is a twelve year old in it..Her choices of films are unusual..I like that..Shes in her league of her own…

  7. Anyone seen other SJ-Woody Allen flick Scoop. It was fairly okayish i think. SJ is in a totally Plain Jane role there. About a murder and the fact that the handsome and wealthy Hugh Jackman cud be the culprit. Hugh Jackman however had nothing much to do in the movie, except look good, which he does well.

    Ya, Scoop, this was def boring…used to come back and forth to watching this while it was being aired…Woody Allen as his neurotic self. SJ, well, I think she did this role because its the first that shes portrayed such a plain charac. HJ..nothing great..
    Saw it, saw the end. Over and done with it…
