Murali passed away

Murali was one of the best actors to grace the silver screen. On one hand, he embodied rage and frustration one faces everyday in this beautiful land of ours. His performances in movies like ‘Adharam’, ‘Nee Ethra Dhanya’, ‘Venkalam’, ‘Narayam’, ‘Chambakkulam Thachan’, ‘Akashadoothu’, ‘Chakoram’, ‘Neythukaran’, ‘Pulijanmam’ emanated undisputed majesty and demeanour in a lead role.
Murali
On the other hand, this same actor went on to play varying supporting and negative characters in numerous classic outings which included ‘Panchagni’, ‘Amaram’, ‘Pathram’, ‘The King’ , ‘Dhanam’ and ‘Dum Dum Dum’ (In Tamil)
He left us on 6th August 2009. The movie camera and stage would miss you . You will be with us, forever, as generations to come would relish the master work you left behind…
God, its your turn to enjoy his bombastic explosions

One of southern india’s better actors. Too bad his work was restricted to Tamil and Malayalam movies and sad that no at PFC has commented on his death. Kurasawa and Fellini we all know about, our own actors we do not.
WTF,
I cant believe it.
Lohitha, then murali – this is real BAD. I am shocked!!
He did good roles in Thamizh too.
VPJ – Forgot to mention Rajan.P.Dev.
It is will be a great loss for malayalam cinema with Lohi.Rajan and now Murali.
R.I.P Murali
Murali’s performance in Chakoram was excellent.
His villian act in king was first grade, remember the scene where he wipes running nose of child, then enters home and washes his hand, showing the double standard of his characters no tigh slapping, over the top villiany act.
George…spot on
VPJ…looks like God has taken the sobriquet ‘Gods own country’ too seriously… He is taking most good things for himself… :-(
Ram, cinemausher..yes RPD, Lohi too…
Cinemausher…Chakoram was my favorite Murali performance, He was a live wire..and really funny too.. King…Wah Wah…
Seriously Malayalam cinema which is already suffering is going to be very much poorer without Padmarajan,Rajan P.Dev & now Murali.well Murali had that unusual calm around him- you just empathised with him as he performed.thats his special quality I guess.Amaram,Dum Dum Dum,Akashadoothu,Ulladakkam,Dasharadham,Panchagni,Pathram etc I can go on & on where he left more than an impressive mark.RIP Murali we’ll surely miss you.
Sorry I meant Lohitadas and not Padmarajan.I guess the Lohi-Padma combo was unique, cant think of one without thinking of the other.
When I talk about the combo, its with reference to the kind of personalities and the skills they had.
BTW Murali’s Lal Salaam was another unforgettable movie!!!
Murali’s death is a great loss to Indian Cinema. May his soul rest in peace.
May his soul rest in peace..
Murali had won National Award for his role in Neythukaran.
He had also contested Lok Sabha elections, was one of directors and founding member of Kariali Malayalam Channel.
I will definitely miss Lal-Murali combo, which was evident in Dhanam,Naaduvaazhikal and Lal Salaam.
I love this actor…..What I liked more in him was the intensity in his eyes….very sad that he passed away….
My condolences to his family and people who believe in performers like Murali…
Bored, impatient audience at the IFFK were waiting for the next long speech. That was actor Murali’s turn. He came close to the mike, said ‘ente priyappetta’… An unexepected thunder of applause from the audience made him smile. coz he knew that was not for his yet-to-begin speech, but for tht charming, masculine voice
The Acting world will miss him, I had opportunity to interact with him back in 2005, when asked who his favourite actor was he named Kalamandalam Gopi, Murali has written several books and also translated Zoo Story in Malayalam. Also his performance is Thalolam as the violinist is amazingly brilliant, Unfortunately lot of new age Malayalam directors reduced him to a cheap villain, but Murali played every role with the same honesty and integrity. The face with a scar and the powerful voice will be missed
