Music Review of Shh… Idi Chala Manchi Vooru

Shafi & Mithuna - The lead pair
EVARO
Singers: Karthik and Geetha Madhuri
Lyrics: Veturi
One thing you’d notice immediately is the certain familiar comfortable melody zone this song puts you in. And the synergy that the singers and the composer created together – the sum of the parts being greater and all that.
An upbeat melody, this song starts with a soft synth followed by a young jazzy sax bit along with the soft beats setting the breezy beachy mood. Lush greens, blue skies, sparkling waters play on the mind screen. The crispy fresh female vocals accompanied by the vigorous yet velvety smooth male vocals make this one an addictive, loopy number.
Sensitive thoughts woven in lovely words and presented in a contemporary melody makes this song a complete package!
The haunting chorus that accompanies the male vocal entry, right after the heavenly violin bit, gives it a cinematic touch. And the clarinet that follows is just superb! Beautiful symphonic interlude after the anthara, the synths and soft beats along with the interlude vocal aalaap makes it all the more refreshing. And the lovely climactic symphony – WOW!
The stanzas are almost done in a dialogue, and it multiplies the effect of what a good duet should boast of. When he ponders “naalOni taanevvarO…?“, she wonders “taaninka naakevvarO…!”
Veturi, mister lyricist, please take a bow sir!
I see this song being a montage song, picturized on the lead characters – split screen – with each one wondering about their unknown better half.
This is the number you’d want to play in the repeat mode, when you go out with your girl on a late night drive.
Sri Vasant, we’ll be watching you.
IMNSHO, it stands right up there along with ARR’s ‘Pudhu vellai mazhai‘ (Roja) and MMK’s ‘Ae janmado‘ (Rakshana).
Rating: 4.5/5

Shh... this is a good town!
OOHALA PALLAKI
Singer: Chitra
Lyrics: Veturi
This is a different composition, very aesthetic and romantic. But the supple-throated singing is accompanied by some serious guitar strumming and frenetic violin playing, giving this song an eerie setting, not unlike the edalO laya of Anveshana, where the character is lost in her singing oblivious of the dangers lurking around the corner.
I see this song being picturized in the serene green locations, on a key character who is about to encounter some unexpected trouble. So much for her dreams.
Have always loved Chitra. But in this case, sadly, she sounded distracted, disinterested and detached – and her vocals lacked the enthusiasm to match the colorfully wide canvas the composition has provided. Which is perhaps the reason why the song sounds out dated, ends up being a routine semi-hindustani light-alternative romantic solo and refuses to scale up beyond that. Pity!
Rating: 3/5

Sounds awesome..like it..after a long time..meleody is taing precedence..
is this the first music review on net for Sshh?
cool..good luck to the team
No offense but comparing the song to Pudhu Vellai Mazhai….what was the reviewer smoking ???
Both sonts are penned by Sri Veturi.
Cheers, OM. It is so depressing to see the songs getting killed just because they happened to be of a *small* movie, instead of a *star* movie. I am sure the guys would have been in love with these songs, head over heels, had they been from one of those vamsham movies.
Krishna – no offense but, whatever it’s that the reviewer was smoking, wouldn’t you want to be on it? ;)
Hari – Thanks, I’ve updated the post.

@ Hari
I havent heard from you after the points I suggested to you.Seeing your comment it means that the movie isnt releasing on 26th Dec.Hope you are using the time to make a good promotional plan for the same.
Listened to Evaro after few days today. Still a pleasant loopy song that it appeared when I first heard it. More power to the team behind these songs and this film. :-)
Songs are great. Ilayaraja territory. Thanks PfC for this exclusive.
Hari,
Songs are very melodious. After a long time good music in telugu, especially the song ‘EVARO’ is the best. Good taste and good luck.
Chandra
Hari Charan and Vasanth gArlaku..
Excellent taste!!! I am a big fan of Satham and I have the GREATEST online collection of his songs on my site. Uhala pallaki song just took me to RD Burman’s antam days (O mainA song).. the song is just awesome and I heartfully congratulate both of you to bring such a melody in the current days cacophonic and transient music world. But I was wondering why Chitra was pronouncing aaSagA as aaShagA.. As a hardcore bhAshAbhimAni, I could not take it.. otherwise, the song is just awesome.
evarO.. evarO is the song I am just listening, while I am typing these comments.. it is also just mind-boggling. Vasanth, you have a bright future ahead.. pl. take care of the pronounciation of the singer.. Karthik has to take care of “cha” kAram..
With best compliments,
Srini Chimata
Audio released as scheduled on Jan 17th. In cinemas (limited) from Jan 23rd. I am so happy that the actress I introduced in Shh.. became very popular in recent Telugu hit – Nacchavule (Madhavilatha). Interestingly her reel life wish (role) in Shh.. came true in her real life..in film the chartacter aspires to be a Film Star.
Open invitation to PFC memebers if any in Hyderabad – let me know we can watch film together and discuss afterwards.
Sethu, any chance?
does anyone have the lyrics for “evaro evaro” song??
