Neetu Chandra Sues Dr.Rajasekhar
Dr.Rajasekhar who is a veteran in Telugu Film industry is being sued by Jugni of OLLO Neetu Chandra For Physical, mental and emotional torture shooting for her telugu movie Satyameva Jayete, which is directed by the Actor’s wife Jeevitha.
The complaint reads “Threatening to kill…mental torture, physically (sic) hitting and abusing, defamation, harming my work…”

I do find the story credible, since she already has acted in some movies already, and didnt mention any ill treatment per se by them.
So why now? Its high time, someone took a bold step and did the rightful thing. I surely hope she gets justice.

I am not surprised. I have heard stories of some southern directors physically abusing actors. Once bharathiraja came on TV ( !!! ) and said he slapped revathi during her first movie because she was not producing the right expression. I assume this pair – rajashekar/wife were producing/financing the movie also – mostly trying to make a quick buck. I cannot imagine how the technicians are being treated in the industry.
It is sad that the judicial system in india doesnt have the balls to support these folks.

neetu chandra should know – not every telugu film director is sekhar kammula, and every co-star kamal kamaraju. the less we speak about TFI on this forum, the better.

mainak – yes, this fiasco is her second telugu outing. her previous telugu movie was kammula’s godavari, where kamal kamaraju and sumanth were her co-stars. pukka sahibs all of them.

There’s so much nepotism, dadagiri exists in Kannada and Telugu industry. At least such incidents are reported from Telugu, but in Kannada no news comes out. Is it Balakrishna who shot some producer/director and didn’t even go to jail few years ago?
I’m sure Neetu won’t get justice because Congress is the ruling party in AP now.
this is nothing new. 20 odd years ago… one popular hero made a pass at his female lead, and when she ignored him… he tried to seduce her and when that failed tried to rape her in her hotel room one night. she cried for help. someone came and saved her. she then lodged a written complaint at the local police station. he was arrested. then his god father, then a top director, came and bailed him out – that very night. i still remember. the news was reported in eenadu (not front page). anyways, the point is, no one knew what happened to that police case after that. that ex-hero is now a biggie and waxes eloquent on karma and philosophy in every interview. that ex-heroine is now happily married to another ex-hero (non telugu) and lives away from TFI. that director is still around, trying in vain to make that elusive hit movie. and this is just one example. and as vivek said, kannada industry is equally bad.
Most of the Telugu actors like Chiru, Venkatesh, Nag, Mahesh Babu, Krishna, the late Sobhanbabu have been perfect gentlemen on sets. But of late there have been a lot of boors like Mohanbabu, Dr. Rajshekar who have been indulging in this kind of terrible behaviour, who consider it their birthright to behave like jerks. Mohanbabu’s history of misbehaviour is legendary, cud fill up an entire post on it.
As for Dr. Rajashekar, he initially created an impact in TFI, doing some pretty good hard hitting movies and thrillers, a vast majority of them remakes of Tam, Mallu, Kannada movies. Of late his movie career has not been going too great guns, and ever since he joined the Congress Party he has begun to think no end of himself. This is not the first time, he has been involved in such a fracas and i bet it wont be the last time. As for Jeevitha, i dont understand how being a woman, she cud actually allow another woman to be assaulted in this manner.
Its really sad, there are many Telugu actors, who conduct themselves with great dignity on sets, but its these rotten apples, who are spoiling the entire show.

Her claims are true. The article has been written now (yesterday) but we here (down south) read about it in the local tabloids sometime back (a month or two I guess)…. Now, that’s not the criteria I am saying her claims are true. What I mean is last time she had just threatened to put a case against Jeevitha and now I read this. Shame, Utter shame..
I agree with Ratnakar, by and the actors in TFI have been gentleman. There are odd idiots like Mohanbabu who have a rather ridiculous history of being nasty with heroines. Rajshekhar is absolute buffoon and has been acting even more idiotic , ever since he’s joined politics. Goes on to every forum on TV – crying hoarse and blaming opposition. Apart from these and also Balakrishna – with his ridiculous shooting episode { He was caught red-handed with the gun, shots were fired and he did injure a producer /director and still got away scott-free because of Chandrababu Naidu }, the whole TFI cannot be blamed.
but this episode and such episodes are definitely shameful.
I agree there are many male chauvinist pigs in film industry, may be it TFI or kannada film industry and also bollywood.
But I feel some of these hindi filmi heroins that comes to TFI to work are so upperhanded. I saw many interviews with telugu heroins ( who are from AP and telugu speaking and has real talent) who has real talent in acting than showing skin criticized about film heroines who comes from north demand a lot of money and have no sense of work ethics. Compared to bollywood TFI is very disciplined and everyone will come to shooting in time and complete as scheduled. Many bollywood actors tells that too.
Basically south filmmakers opt for bombay/north heroines since they wanted a girl who can expose the body and willing to do anything for money.
If you search in google for ‘Neetu Chnadra’ you get thousands of hits about her ‘Hot n sexy’ pictures, no dignity at all. Any Indian women will feel shamed even to look at those ugly pictures. Looks like she can do anything for money. I can clearly see this incident as taking advantage of the situation.
