New on screen mothers : Glamour quotient

From which angle Poonam Dhillon looks like mother of Madhvan and his elder brother in recently released film 13 B? Is she given proper characteristics which a mother of such sons, who might be around 30 years old or even more, can/should have?

One person jokingly said that Kidnap was India’s first film promoting incest among audiences belonging to age group of 26-32. He was sarcastic on the character of Vida Malvada in Kidnap. She plays a character, who is in her late 30s and is mother of a 18 years old daughter in the film.
To look healthy and beautiful is prerogative of everyone. But there has to be some kind of authenticity while actors are chosen to play the characters.
There has to be a right kind of make up to exhibit right age of the characters.
Actors has to be given a suitable body language and an understanding of the characters, they are playing.
Glamour quotient can not affect every role in the films.
Or its fine in modern era?

In Aradhana, Sharmila Tagore, playing mother to the Rajesh Khanna was not the same girl who was emoting passion and emotions with father Rajesh Khanna inside a room while song Roop Tera Mastana is played.
There was a clear distinction between two age groups played by same Sharmila Tagore.
Sanjeev Kumar of Mausam was not same with both mom and daughter Sharmila Tagore. There was a clear distinction between young and aged Sanjeev Kumar.
There was a clear difference between father Amitabh Bachchan and son Amitabh Bachchan in Adalat.
And examples of films, where younger actors are properly used to present old characters, are plenty in numbers.
Then what is happening now?
RK bhai..i remember once Hema Malini(Recently) said..the biggest difference she finds in todays films/tv serials is..that it is a must for every character to look glamorous, especially female characters…she was not happy!
@Om,
if today someone buys the rights of Deewar from Yash Chopra and goes for its remake, after that long dialogue of AB, aaj mere pass ye hai wo hai…….
actor who would play Shashi Kapoor’s part would be forced to shout ” Mere paas Sexy Maa hai”
Blame it on Ektaa Kapoor…
@Satya,
Only one person can not be blamed.
Poonam Dhillon was a wrong choice to play Madhavan’s mother in 13B.. a really weird decision in an otherwise well made film…
Has anyone seen the mothers that they have used in serials like “Ramayana” or for that matter any other preaching serial. ???? or is it just me ?
*pervert mind smiles*
