   I personally found Jeremy Brett a little too stocky, ’cause I always have Sidney Paget’s classic drawings in my head while picturising Holmes, but I’m more than excited to see the Robert Downey – Guy Ritchie combo

   You must have seen the later episodes Kenny – Jeremy Brett was almost as if he’d stepped out of Paget’s drawings..as he grew older, Brett became manic depressive and almost never stepped out of being Sherlock Holmes – the character – he was on medication that made him plump. He was as thin as a reed when David Burke was Watson in the Granada series…his weight problems started with Edward Hardwicke taking over as Watson in ‘The Return of Sherlock Holmes’ series and the death of his wife before the series began shooting.

   Have you seen the Russian version of the Sherlock Holmes ? It was actually awesome !!! I think you can find “The hound of the Baskervilles” and “Sherlock Holmes – The beginning” on Youtube

   I found the trailer to be a little too full of action. I dont associate Sherlock Holmes being involved in so much action. He was more of an intellectual sleuth. A classic understated method of investigation where he hardly had to use any force. But again eagerly awaiting this take to see what they have done with an iconic character.
