Mr YA MISS was scheduled to release on the 2nd December 06. Ten days before the release i went to RGV and told him “Ramuji, the first print if the film will be out soon and i will be out of work soon. Without looking at me, continuing typing his text and also responding to my question, he said ” U dont have to worry about work, there is lots happening, start working on your own project”. This was the moment i had waited all the four years that i had been working with him on various films. Though, cutting the story short , somehow we could not go on floor due to various reasons. There was no money and i got a message from my friend and colleague Abhishek Vaidya that RGV is starting a film starring AB and why don’t i ask him. Which i did. I had missed working on Sarkar as we were busy with the post prodction of Naach. This was the opportunity to work with the deadly combination of Ram Gopal Varma and Amitabh Bachchan. I sent him a message saying, “all my friends are working on Nishabd, how can u deprive me of the same? i would love to be the part of the direction team”, i waited and there was no reply. I thought that maybe the team is full. The next afternoon i got a message in my inbox. It was from RGV, “K, cme nd wrk wth me n Nishbd”. i was happy, thrilled, excited, i replied back saying reaching office asap. Cut to two hours later, i was standing in the basement of the Factory talking to one of our colleagues. I have not even yet read the script, RGV comes out ot the edit, i dont wish him, most of us ads dont as e doesnt believe in exchanging sweet nothings. He sees me, his first reaction is, “Fuck man, i dont know what i am going do”, in the mean time just find me Revathys brother. I look at Abhishek, and as i turn to look at RGV, he has not there, he has already left. But its not new, we know this man has fifty other things on his mind to address. I go and meet Sheel Nimbalkar, a dear friend and the most efficient Executive Producers i have ever come across. I meet kusum she has written the film, and she also was the cheif ad on Sarkar. Abhishek has already joined a day before me. Abhi gives me the script to read. I go through it, its superb and i am excited to be on the sets wanting to witness what rgv is going to do with this script. I ask abhi, “shake, when are we planning to shoot?’, He answers, “twelve to fifteen days from now”.

Hey Push,
After finishing Jamia, i worked on various serials like Kagar, Mission Fateh (Pilot Episode), SSShhh… Koi hai with another kickass Saurabh Narang, Apun toh bas aise hi, TImba roocha etc… then one day i happened to see an episode on ZEE it was called Swarnabhuj, Umesh Padalkar my first director had already laid the foundation and an eye for good work. I was amazed to see the quality stuff on TV, i figured out the directors name and number from the channel, i called him and told him i loved what i saw. Sriram Raghavan the gentle soul he is thanked me and said i am not doing anything now, also there is some work going on at home we wil catch up soon. I was too determined to work with this director. I kept calling him for close to seven months when one day i had called him, he told me that he was doing a film and if i knew Ram Gopal Varma’s office in JUHU near iskon temple? I said yes, he told me i am working on a film called ‘Ek Haseena Thi’ come and meet me there tomorrow. I went, i clearly remember i was the first Assistant Director to join that project. Mr. Chinna was the EP, while the film was in Post Production, he was put on another film called to be directed by Praveen (now Vishram Sawant post D). He had seen me work, he put me on Naach, two weeks later i got to know that some new director is gonna take over the project. I was not to keen to work under a newcomer, i expressed my feelings to chinna garu as we fondly called him to which he replied in his peculiar hyderabadi hindi ” Nai re tu toh bohot khush ho le leta re surya, apna Ramu direct karta, NAACH”. Thats how i got on to working with RGV, later on i worked on Mr ya Miss, and Nishabd as well. Its always a great pleasure to see that man at work…
