KRK (right) about to climb on Raju Srivastava (left) with Ismail Darbar in center

I guess you, dear readers of PFC, may have seen or heard of this by now. Or Maybe not. I guess I’m the lone ranger following Reality shows (read: trash and loving it) these days.

So we have Bigg Boss Season Three. Amitabh Bachchan’s hosting it. It perked my interest (ya ya ya, it’s just an excuse). It was quite obvious on Day one that something was going to explode. What with the great KRK of Desh Drohi fame in it. Of course the constant bitching by the women and the gay designer wasn’t helping either.

But it reached quite a peak when physical fights have almost erupted. On television. For real. And it’s again on the channel Colors Bindass, who have the honors of being the first show to show slapping in reality. If you’ve forgotten “How can you slap?” here’s the link to refresh your memory.

So now on Bigg Boss, we have KRK almost hitting the designer Rohit Verma and then getting into a physical fight (almost) with comedian Raju Srivastava. Since Colors channel has progressed so much, I would suggest they start keeping an on-site doctor, nurse, bandages and bouncers. Please do not be surprised if strippers, hookers and drugs flow in, beginning season 23, 24 or 25. Who needs porn anymore!

pataa nahi yaar, for some reason I was never able to watch Bigg Boss… never caught my view for more than 2 minutes (Maybe I continue to connect it to a very weepy rupali ganguli and a weepy amit sadh … shucks come to think of it the entire casting in the season 1 was pretty sickeneing)… bahut koshish kiya due to my friends… never beyond 5 mins…

Did not watch bigboss season 1 or 2. But started watching season 3 only because BigB was hosting it. Must say the show is very entertaining and “what would happen next” factor keeps one glued to the screen, but as today’s episode confirms its not really a family show.

Oz Bhai, Big Boss contributes towards more information to a very old article I had written on PFC called kahan gaye woh log ( enter shameless plug here… http://passionforcinema.com/kahan-gaye-woh-log) They take all kind of losers and forgotten individuals and gives them a final shot at glory.

After the first two seasons, the participants also know that jitna naatak karengey utna attention milega….. lets look at the people who have stayed here.. Rakhi Sawant – got a major lease of life, rahul roy, ehsaan kureishi, sambhavna seth, ashutosh kaushik, vindoo, sherlyn chopra, deepak parashar, monika bedi, zulfi syed, kashmeera shah, roopali, amit sadh, bobby darling, debojit saha, deepak tijori, baba sehgal, carol gracias and Ravi Kissan etc. All these one-piece wonders had been written off by the rest of the wordl and got a major break becoz of the show…. hence the participants now know how to play the game….be really nice and act as a family for the first few weeks.. get the riff-raff eliminated and then the backbiting, bitching, abuses, etc begins… however this time around it seems to have started earlier…

Rahi baat KKR ki… he is a first rate A**hole. Not because of what he is doing on the show… on-screen, of-screen… whatever, guy seems like such a lecherous creep….Prick.

But the show also gives us a good idea of the new lows that entertainment and media have fallen to and what channels will do for eyeballs… KKR throws a bottle at someone… but isnt elimintated immediately…. its flashed on all news channels, people write about it… its screened repeatedly.. and then people tune into the next episode (hence huge jump in the ratings..)… what have we, as a society become? is this the entertainment we crave for? Please, call me old fashiioned, but I would still sit through Buniyaad, Hum Log, Yeh Jo hai Zindagi, Tamas, ek kahani, Surabhi, Wagle ki Duniya, Karamchand, Mungeri lal ke haseen sapney anytime….

And what scares me more is what happens after another 7-8 yrs when my little children grow up…. what will be televsion then? what will be reality television then, bro?

I had seen the episode last night and what a comedy it was!!!!
Rohit Verma is such an @$$#ole. He was talking about showing respect and all that bull shit to KRK. He should have just gone up and slapped this useles Kamal. At least over in this house, Rohit would have got support from his fellow house mates. At least Raju had the courage to slap KRK, though in a very funny manner.

Shows like Big Boss are the ultimate expression of a decadent middle-class society that has lost everything, the will to fight, issues to raise, literature to read, parks to play and the brain to think.
I still find it hard to comprehend that people can actually enjoy two people fighting and abusing each other in reality for no apparent reason.

before every thing… are you all missing some sort of magnetism in Amitabh Bacchan?
    well i am missing…

I am not happy with the whole scenario. they haven’t corrected the glare on Big B’s eye care and shadow on his eyes…making him look like a blind. The camera and lights, the colour of the set, the musical impact and its result on people. no doubt its same big b, but something is missing.
The design elements are missing I think.

    well….
We are the one who make it all and we are those who like and dislike it…or perhaps we try and give some “deep intellectual” dimension to the same….

hai ek bajaar to bikega woh bhi, jo kabhi ghoonghat main tha aur vo bhi jo dookan main dhumil, per tej roshini ki tapish me lahu-luhaan tha…
    :witsend:

But what a show people….we are talking about it…and the great KRK( ) said..its about TRP, guess he was right…

but let’s all re-think the good old days of malgudi, or hum log, or chandrakanta…hehehehe….the globalization and the monetary situations made us gorge on the conditions….
we cry, we smile, and its all in there…distorted and at times with lot of noise in terms of communication.

man made fire and now we are scared of the fact that someday our heart will stop and be will be resting on the burning logs with lots of non fat free ghee over us…or we will go down the earth where we litter used condoms, gutka overdose saliva and many unwanted things….

I loved one scene from hanuman, the animated flick….where they explain the tragic situation of “Dharti Maa”. it was so right and true in its nature…now news channels do have a special program on mayan culture and one date from the pages of future.
    Hypocrite us. damn..

phew…I got lost…or I just did what has been happening over TV serials…
someone told me…it’s fiction. It’s written…it’s what people like.
Damn… we gave them this and now they are addicted….we need something to change the scenario…. reality check perhaps.
