PARZANIA IN GUJARAT
Ramu Ramanathan | Movies | January 27, 2007 at 12:03 pm
Am forwarding an eMail I received from friends in Gujarat. It may help in the larger scheme of things.
Dear friends,
Once again we are threatened by the goondas of Bajrang Dal that they will not allow any discussion, debate or acceptance of the carnage that tore up the people of Gujarat in 2002. They have threatened that they will not allow screening of the film Parzania. This threat should immediately be countered. I appeal to all of you to do the following:
1. Meet the police commissioners of our respective cities and demand the screenings of the film be allowed peacefully.
2. All of us should showup in theatres in full strength on 26th Jan. These goondas are only afraid of one thing-a crowd bigger than theirs. (contact Gaurang for more details)
3. If for some reason, the goondas are able to stop the film from being screened, then we will all hold a special screening in a public place.
If you are as angry as we are with these threats and hooliganism then PLEASE PUT YOUR NAMES at the bottom of this mail and forward it to as many people as you can. LETS SHOW THESE PEOPLE THAT WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH!

To hack with Bajrang dal, they have done nothing for humanity and worst have brought down name of Hindu religion as such. If any one tries to play with such freedom it is our onus to defeat them, lets fill up theatres.

hahahah himanshu easier said than done.
I don’t think they will even allow parzania to be screened/put up in theaters before we get a chance to go and buy tickets in support

Good to know channels like CNN-IBN are giving a great coverage to the film. Rajdeep Sardesai interviewing Naseer n Rahul Dholakia on the streets of the incident was aired!
Its sad to know Director himself had to run around and release the film himself in Gujrat, with him sharing the losses if any.
It would be a shame for Gujrat if the film is not screened there, further blackening its image.
