Update: To honor and respect the victims of terrorism in Mumbai on Nov 26th, we are postponing PFCOne 2008 to January 5, 2009. Below are the new dates… End Update
Here’s the schedule for PFCOne 2008. All movies that we’ve accepted in the festival will be shown on PFC as per the schedule below.
Based on the comments received in the Competitive section announcement, I would like to mention that it is not important whether your film made it to the competitive section or not. What is important is that you made a movie. And this festival is to support your endeavor.
The objective of PFCOne is not how technically sound your movie is, but to encourage you to make a movie and keep making it till you find your way in the competitive section. The focus is to hear your story, your thoughts and how you conveyed your thoughts via the medium of cinema.
There are many who would love to be in films, be it directing or acting or something else… and most of them are bound by their day jobs and responsibilities unable to drop everything and come to Bombay or any film industry to pursue what they truly desire. And that is precisely what PFCOne is about. To have your journey shortened immensely via your computers!
Even the non-competitive films will be shown in the festival and this time we are taking a step ahead to support all filmmakers who’s movies are being shown in this festival…
PFC will host the festival, joining hands with YouTube to make your films reach a maximum audience. And this time we are not keeping the festival movies on PFC pages. Those of you who have blogs, websites or any site on the internet – all will be able to show the festival movies – in a playlist format or individual movie format – on your own website when we release each day’s scheduled movies!!! (yes unlike some in Bollywood and other online events and festivals, we are NOT going to block people from using the embed code for videos
)
Participants who would like to take their movie out of YouTube after the festival, please email us and let us know. All participants should note that they are free to distribute their movies for public viewing AFTER the festival is over on Dec 5, 2008.
PFC has also invited production and distribution houses to log on and view the festival movies. Hopefully next year, we will have much more exciting opportunities besides the prizes for winners and the participants!

Very well put Oz! Granted my movie didn’t get into the competitive selection, but it’s only made me decide to put in better efforts for next year. All the best for all those in the competitive section!!

follow up on the workshop…..
i talked to one Mr. Bapu Sarvagod from sense india.
its a short term certificate course on scripting and film direction spread over three days (21st to 23rd november).
it includes practicals where you have to script and direct a short film on the final day. the fees is Rs. 6500/- (incl. of course material and equipment rental).
you have to register first by making a call on the numbers provided on the website and then reach the venue directly on the 21st with the fees at 9.30 am.
i will take a final call regarding this tomorrow.
PS: want to know other members views regarding this. are such workshops any good?

@ amit…
i also called them up…but was disappointed to hear the fees. no that i blame them but rite now 6500 seems unaffordable…..

@ashwin
it was real value for money……hardly got time to surf the net in between.

My short made the cut! YAY!
Will there be a real-life screening as well, or is the screening only happening on the internet?

I have a question that’s not regarding the competition. Let’s say I really like a song from a bollywood release (say zara si dil from jannat or khudah jaane from bachna aye haseeno) and i re-record it with a different singer and my own music arrangements, then can the producers object/take legal action? Sorry for posting this question in this thread, but it wud be great if someone can answer thus … thanks
