PICNIC – Poster & Synopsis
Folks… because of some delays in post production, I could not cut the teaser as expected. It looks that I won’t be able to release it before 9th Wednesday. So in the meanwhile, I just thought to share the poster of the film which got ready few days back. Also I felt, PFC readers deserved to have a closer peek into the story, so here it is;
The story of the film Picnic is weaved around the political ambitions of three friends, who go on a picnic to relax themselves before the ensuing elections. Something dreadful awaits them at the picnic which turns this outing in a never ending nightmare.
Vikram aspires to be the state president of his political party. His rivals to the position are his close friends Raghav and Ranveer. Ranveer invites the other two to Udaipur to have some fun and charge themselves up for the elections. After an initial hesitation, Vikram agrees but the morning he was to fly to Udaipur with Raghav, he receives a call that shatters his political aspirations and upsets him terribly. Though Vikram continues with the picnic, he is not able to forget the call. Kushalgarh occurs to Vikram as a possible venue for the outing as this place is associated with his past. They all agree and proceed to Kushalgarh forest which is inhabited by deadly tribes known for their sharp stone shooting. At the picnic spot, there is an old dilapidated palace where they all camp for the day. They drink beer and have fun but Vikram’s mind is elsewhere. He starts a game of hitting the empty beer bottles with stone to decide the state president candidature. Vikram here tries to make amends for his political loss but his luck fails here also and Raghav gets close to winning the game. While Vikram is away, Ranveer confides to Raghav that Vikram is desperate to become the president despite knowing that party has already picked Raghav’s name as its choice. Ranveer too goes off to relieve himself when he hears a thud. What ensues is the high tension drama leading to mistrust and accusations. Is someone really trying to kill them all or is it a conspiracy by one of them? Picnic is not just a tale of unfulfilled aspirations but also a portrayal of how aggression and humiliation could erode the human values and leave an indelible foot print on one’s life.
I hope the story generates enough interest in everybody to stand the film through its run time. Look forward to releasing the teaser late in the next week. Bye for now.

Thanks Krishn… and for inspiration, the similarity ends at the characters being aspiring politicians. Teaser would be released by this weekend. Film would be available only after some time as I would send it to film festivals for next few months
